Please, stop making uninformed comments. As most of the posters here agree, there seems to be absolutely no "twinkling" effect in movies.
I have seen twinkling in movies, its pretty easy to see in a uniform color background. This monitor is the best LCD I have seen or used to date, dont watch a lot of movies mainly for gaming. Just read Tom's review and its pretty much in line with that.

Spending more than 400 bucks on a LCD is risky.

If you want a quality LCD, we are talking about at least 15 hundred.

Dell came out with a 24 in screen for 1199 today

lol

My new system should be adequate, too much ram according to the so-called experts.

thanks for your advice, you are my hero!!!!

WHAT IN GODS NAME WOULD I HAVE DONE WITHOUT THIS ADVICE??

Too much RAM isn't the worst thing you could suffer. Seems like what's thought to be adequate RAM just about doubles every two years or so. The day may come pretty soon when you'll be glad you have that "extra" RAM. My 512 MB used to be about all anybody got, but now it's not.

Anyone try this monitor with something real fast like Q3A or a race sim? My 21" Nokia Trinitron (thanks hot deals! Remember that one?) is starting to show signs of dying and I'm tired of hauling it around, but I really don't want to screw up my "skillz" by going to an LCD...

it had nothing to do with too much ram, rather spending 315 for a gig. slots responses to this rather valid point made by far more experienced buyers/builders were as infantile and uninformed as the ones he displays here.

I doubt I will be keeping mine, just arrived from compusa today. In Murfreesboro if interested in picking up or having shipped.

Anywhere else that has this that doesn't charge tax to TN and has it in stock for around $390? Thanks

Is there a problem with it? Bad pixels?

Just checked and the base price jumped to $392.99 at Chiefvalue. Darn. I had a mind to order. Now, because of that sudden increase and the fact that I'd have to pay CA tax, I think I'll sit tight. At .0875 taxrate (?) that'd come to $425.41.

Maybe it is just my eyes, but the thing looks like crap to me. I currently have a silver theme and nothing looked even halfway decent. Text looked like it had some yellowish or greenish tint to it and hurt my eyes. I probably didn't mess with the settings enough, but I'm fine going back to CRT. I did some pixel tests and did find one stuck on red in the corner, but that was it. Full screen colors looked great and even played a quick game and it looked fine (in 1024x768 no less). This was using DVI on a 9800 Pro. Will be hitting the store this weekend to take it back, sure not paying to ship it.

You have been mainly using it in the native res of 1280 x 1024, right?

Yes, native res is already what my desktop has been. I am letting my GF use it until it goes back, she doesn't see anything wrong with it. I see a greenish/white ghosting around text, which just could be my eyes since I do have haloing problems with light and all. Never had an issue with any of my laptops though, so I'm not sure what is up.

They are not really more expirienced, they just have no money and love to be the ultimate critic. Thats my take.
