I thought I posted in this earlier but I guess not.

I'm 24 and have encountered some of what you have. I totally know what your job feels like because I've been there and still am. I'm hanging on by my fingertips to IT but it's damn hard. I've learned a lot in the last couple of years. Going from school to a job to unemployment to having to move to a new country for a new job to now in the next week moving again and having no frigging clue whether it will be in the US still or in Canada...these are all pretty sh*ty things but they have matured me and even while in the middle of it I'm able to know that I'll look back on it and be glad I had these whacky experiences anyway because you know so many people just sit in their own little lives hardly encountering anything significant from one year to the next.

Anyway I'm rambling. It's nice in this thread for people to come in and say you have the best years of your life and you can do anything and be anyone and maybe it's a sign of my age (lack of it) but I don't really believe that. I'm sure you want a good healthy job and don't know how to get one if tech doesn't work for you (same boat as me), and you can't do "the stuff you want to" because you don't have the money. You know you're not getting any younger so you want to really get your career going but it's stalling and treading water. Just try not to get too bitter. Take everything as a learning lesson because it is and although things can get tough on you there is always somebody else in a much sh*tier situation. I've seen things change in a new york minute from good to not so good and then to good again. As long as you're there and psyched for the good when it comes along you'll be fine.

Thankfully the woman situation for me is solved already and you know in a very short period of time yours could be too becuase you never know what's going to come along.

And for the record yes it does get better. Even with the ups and downs my life has consistent, I think, been on a steady incline since I got out of high school.

Well I greatly appreciate all the replies. I definitely just needed to vent, and it's nice to hear responses from people who have actually gone through this stuff. Definitely time to go buy something to amuse myself! :)

i say suck it up quit whining if you don't like your job look for a new one and find ways to make your job enjoyable until then. life is never easy unless you hit the genetic lottery and your parents are royalty, or uber-rich

life gets better or worst depending on what you make of it, man...
if you're so depressed, either take a trip to a third world country and spend a week there, and you 'll come back very thankful with what you have, or give yourself a vacation in a nice place and enjoy life...
i really think a vacation in another country will do you some good!!!!
