I'm also addicted to soda as well. However for awhile now I have been drinking this powder tea mix to cut back on that. It comes in a pack of six large straws and one of them will fill a 2L bottle.

I'm trying to limit myself to one and only one 2L bottle of soda a day.

Archangel, you are right. Sometimes i also forget that people get addicted to food or drinks whatever their reason might be. But i encourage everyone, if they can, to switch to something less sugary. Water for example :)

Wow, you are showing some incredible restraint and self discipline at sticking to only a 2L bottle of soda per day.

I swear, I read what you wrote and laughed out loud so much that I had to tell a buddy of mine. That said, despite you think I am making fun of you, I really am not. As I mentioned earlier, we all have bad habits. Taking the first step, no matter how small, is commendable. Good luck on your journey.

Thanks. To encourage myself to stick with the plan, I'm going award myself with a Linux notebook with the money I'll saved from cutting back.

Its been an interesting journey for me. Going vegan is harder than I thought, but worth it.

A friend of mine used to drink tons of this crap. Saw him lately and he looked different. He said he had lost 30lbs just by stopping drinking sodas in 2 months.

Good stuff. He was over 300.

That is fairly common when people quite drinking sugary drinks or switching over to diet. I lost at least 10 pounds after I switched to diet.

While I'm working on limited myself to one 2L off soda a day, it is hard to do and if I'm not careful I'll binge drink the stuff. Well at least I quit walking over to 711 to get the stuff.

I just realized I had been neglecting this thread. I found out a few months ago that I'm allergic to poultry and especially eggs. I've apparently had inflammation issues for years and never really got it - I just figured I was dying. I can breathe a lot easier now and feel better in general (though not great) since I stopped eating poultry.

The soda experiment didn't stick, I simply like it too much. I've cut back on it, but I don't know if I possess the willpower to stop it. I can do without alcohol, dating, a social life, buffalo wings, whatever, but soda seems to be the line. I'm not sure how to get past it.

Try finding a halfway alternative - like Rasberry Iced Tea instead of soda, and then gradually wean off.

Anti-inflammatory supplements include: black cumin seed oil & chia seeds

Not that you asked, just throwing that out from my own experience. In addition to allergen avoidance of course.
