I'm thinking that chocolate malt is the best ice cream flavor

For relatively normal flavors, my vote goes to coffee, but I do love some chocolate malt. Malt in anything increases enjoyment.
 
I grew up in the mid west and one of the local dairies had a ice cream shop in the front that made fantastic real old school malts then 🙂

I'm still a Mint Moosetrack fan these days though in general at home. I try not to limit myself when out and about, depending where I am.
 
"Old school"? A chocolate malt is just a chocolate milkshake with some malt powder thrown in. There is no old school. There is no new school. It's just malt powder. 🙄

Yeah old school. Like a dairy that was making it's own ice cream and malts in the 50's.

You can pretty much shove your usual attitude up your ass, more or less. It always gets old fast.

From your usual posts here, I would not doubt you did not start that little real life scene in some way.

But the ice cream isle is a rough and tumble place, you never know what kind of thug you may run into 😛

I treat my ice cream like my beer; it entirely depends on my mood and the season. In no particular order:

*Vanilla Bean
*Any variation of brownie/cookie dough/birthday cake
*Tin Roof
*Butter Pecan
*Strawberry

Anyone remember that ass that posted about 'good old fashioned flavors' of ice cream some time back? Keep an eye out on the front page, I'm going to dig that shit back up.
 
OP, try Ben & Jerry's "Cookies and Cream". I'm not normally a big fan of the flavor, but theirs is great and close to 'chocolate malt'.

When I was young living in California there was a drug store called Thrifty that sold over the counter ice cream. I always got chocolate malted crunch.

Now I don't eat ice cream. I'll have a Moolatte from Dairy Queen or a shake, but that's about it.

Only ice cream I like is a specific few of the Ben and Jerry's. For the most part, I've never been an ice cream fan though I do like those orange cream thingies. I like the grape ice sickles but other than that I don't care much for most any ice cream in general.

Oh man, those are the types I tend to get whenever I'm at some local scoop shop, which is very very rare.

But if I'm eyeing a shake at any ice cream place, unless I'm feeling like trying something else, my default is always, always, a wonderful chocolate malt. Oooo, I feel warm and cozy just thinking of one right now. It's like the ultimate slice of heaven... in shake form. 😀 Or a better analogy: ambrosia. Mmmm, ambrosia.
 
That Thrifty chocolate malted crunch is good. It's still available.

They used to have scoops for 5 cents per scoop as I recall.
