I'm the guy that interrupts your dinner with a phone call.

I have caller ID, and I'm not afraid to use it. If I don't recognize the number, or if no number is available, my answering machine will screen the call.

If you check your caller ID during dinner, kstu interrupted your meal sixone 😉

:shrug; I figure he spent more time listening to it ring than I did to check the CID.

I ALWAYS take te time to do surveys on the phone.

the callers are just trying to make a living and it is only a matter of a few minutes of my time.

I did this job for a year, 1 way to get by do not call list, they outsource to Canada, boom, your list doesn't matter. Aswell, all those surverys and statistics people quote...alot of them come from these things. company I worked for did nothing but Pollitical surveys, alot do, evironment, policy, homelessness, ect ect. So you do them, the government gets your opionion. you don't than they don't get your opnion. The do not call/Take my number off my list ect ect do not matter. You are not going to get a huge judgement even if you do take it to trial and win, and in the end, the amount of people that take it to trial and win, vs surverys completed, the surverys win in the end. big Buisness, if you do not beleive it, turn on CNN or FoxNews and when you see the :46% of people agree with blah blah blah, you know, someone did there job and got the surveys done so the government knows where public opionon is on an issue.

He/she is being paid to cold call you sixone; you on the other hand have to avoid the Pavlov reaction which is to stop enjoying your meal to figure out who is calling you and whether or not you will answer it. 🙂

though, there are some as$hole companies out there. One I worked for, we were given a sample population of 5000 phone numbers. We needed to get 2000 surveys from them. We called each other 50-75 times over a 2 month perios until they finally did it. I don't know how many laws we broke, but at 21.50/hour+OT offered, I was not complaining 🙂

I've gotten a total of 2 non-charity (they're exempt :|) calls in the five or so years I've been on the list. Reported both of them, hope they got fined

If they were in the US they would....chances are they wern't. I mean....in London alone...a city of 350000 people, we employ 25000 call center people. Canada has all the call centers 😉

you interrupt my dinner I get mad for 2 reasons
1. I'm eating, I don't like being bugged while eating
2. The only way to contact me at dinner is via cell phone meaning your eating up my minutes 😉

If supper was a family meal at a regular time in my house, I'd probably care, but it isn't. Honestly, I'm usually eating at my desk or in front of the TV anyway, and the TV displays the caller ID, so it's just not a deal for me.
