So my roommate Dylan is a guy I never see. He just stops by every now and then, sleeps and leaves. I live in a huge place - a duplex with 5 other roommates, and he's the one guy who's just kinda a jerk. I had a long conversation with one of the other guys about how dylan's not paying his utilities and i was already pissy from that when I read Dylan's blog.. SO i replied.. It's probably not very civil of me and will probably get me in trouble.. Oh well..

There was no need to post that dude. You could have just apologized for the loud music, asked him about the utilities, and bonded or something.

probably not but a) i don't listen to music too loud and would SURELY lower it if he just asked b) my roommate in charge of the bills HAS asked him, he just walks away c) he never does anything - never cleans up after himself, never takes out the trash, never washes the bathroom... so when he whines it gets me extra pissy.

Perhaps it's time for a room mate meeting?
Just get your room mates together, and just find out what everyone else is thinking.
Find out what they like, and dislike about the whole situation, and perhaps ya'll can work on more than just one problem.
 
Put locks on the appliances and water supplies, everybody gets a key except him, and cut the electrical wiring to his room.

And if his name isn't on the lease, have him arrested for trespassing.
 
so how about you confront him about it instead of posting remarks on his blog, then complaining about it on this message board?
 
May I just say, that I love the way you handled it...I say forget the people who say you should have apologized...he should have asked someone to turn it down
