because you don't actually have to be athletic to play? </dons flamesuit>

John Kruk did say, "I ain't an athlete, lady, I'm a baseball player."

And no one here is second-guessing the Krukker.

Being athletic and being an athlete are two different things to him, I guess he's trying to say?

Are you, in fact, second-guessing the Krukker?

I'm going to have to buy his book, read it, and let you know.

But David Wells did throw a no hitter, overweight, and hung over.

Yup. Pitching takes a special breed, though, and it's not about how fast you can run or how hard you can hit. The whole arm on a pitcher looks waaaaaay different than the arms of his fellow players. Wells would have died of a coronary right there on the field if he had to play 1st or short stop.

Or even run out a ground ball. I bet CC Sabathia is (literally) breathing a sigh of relief that he no longer plays in the NL.

I'm not sure about anywhere else but Wrigley stops beer sales after the 7th, they want people to be able to walk out of the stadium.

Of all sports, Baseball probably has the largest disparity in fun/enjoyment between watching it in person and watching it on TV.

Oh, and yes, baseball + beer = win.
