in my best experience the best thing to do with a bad debt is to "write it off".

forget it and learn about who you can loan money to
[no one]

getting this little amount of money is generally not worth the stress and he is NOT your friend if he puts you thru this crap . . .
don't fall for his scam

"MOTHER FUCKER!!!"
-we'd all call him...?

Hey, but then again, you have to move on. It's over, what's done is done. You're outa childhood years, deal with it. Otherwise... read this one more time.

Talk to his parents about it. If they're supporting him and he's pissing it away on gambling, they deserve to know.

You're moving into a house with a guy who can't even make the deposit payment? How do you expect him to pay rent? You might want to rethink that situation.

very much the case. tell him you're not going to live with him and you'll find another roommate.

its abit late for that

its not jus someone i can dump.....hes a good friend, if a little lazy. i dunno how to sort this.

How much later are you going to let it get? What happens when he doesn't pay his rent or his share of utilities? If he'll steal from his parents, what's to keep him from stealing from you? If he's such a good friend, then why is he spending your money at a poker table?

If you look around, I bet you can find a friend/roommate who has the same definition of friendship as you. This jerk cares more about himself than anyone in the world.

Just chart it up as experience and move on.

The most expensive lesson that I have learn from friend -- A close school friend of mine borrowed my camera gears for a shoot (Canon F1, 17mm, 24mm, 50mm, 80mm, and 80~200mm) and she keep saying that she forget or for some reason she needed for something. 3 months later she took off out of the country for 2 years, and we met up a few years later and she gave me the run around. I gave up and stop talking to her after that.
