I'm leaning Joe Biden

Old Joe gave an opening speach at the democrat retreat in Maryland. You can catch some analysis podcasting Rachael Maddow 2/14.
Joe has balls, the balls many democrats only wish Obama had.
I see Joe Biden as very much underestimated.
I underestimated him.
I see Joe as a mix of FDR and LBJ, LBJ as far as fearless arm twister to achieve the goal.

Old Joe laid out the landscape where democrats stand. Their goals.
Stating that democrats have the majority of American with them when it comes to every single American issue facing us today including immigration reform, pay equality in the work place, marriage equality, raising of the minimum wage, and while Obamacare has it's issues still a clear majority of Americans would not and do not want to see ACA reform repealed.

And Joe was on target stating that within politics today there is no single Republican Party.
Joe sincerely wishes there were one Republican Party one could sit across the table and deal with, but truth told there is no single voiced Republican Party. Only factions of the Republican Party.
Case in point, the four responses to the state of the union speach.
Need there be more proof beyond that?

I would hope that Joe would run in 2016. He is probably the only American democrat besides Bill Clinton that could make the case for every single issue facing Americans where the majority of Americans unite and agree.
Joe has this ability to make the point, lay out the issues, and justify why most Americans agree regardless of party.
And Joe also has this nack of tossing in a little spice to shake things up.
Raising the eyebrows to make sure everyone is paying attention.

I don't see Hillary having anywheres near that ability to achieve the same as Joe.
Spelling out that clear unifying message.
Not on her own.
There would be too much distraction and relying on the hype of being that first woman president, that history making thing.
Which could possibly work to elect her, but then again, maybe not.

Joe has been underestimated.
He has the potential to become a great leader in the category as FDR, and the better part of an LBJ.
I could see a little JFK tossed in there too if Joe found his groove.

One difference between democrats and republicans, even if both Joe and Hillary were to run, in the end the party will unite unified behind that one candidate.
I no longer believe, and clearly has become quite obvious, that republicans have that ability to unite.
Probably never will again. Not until after their Armageddon. Their internal purge, if you will.
Question that? Just ask John McCain or the new target for purging old John Boehner.

All Joe needs is a clear message laid on the line, spelling out the differences between the left and the right agenda.
If Joe can make his case so clear that a child could understand, Joe would easily be the next president.
But that Joe Biden message must be on point and crystal clear to the voter for Joe to succeed.
Not that Obama kumbaya, let's all hold hands message that has lost most Americans.

Democrats need another FDR, not another Mr Rogers.
Joe could be that FDR.

Obama kumbaya? Please. Obama tells Congress what he wants and Congress doesn't obey so he circumvents or acts to ignore options he legitimately has like rescheduling marijuana but will allow banks to take money from illegal sources, telling them to ignore the law again taking no steps to make it legal for them to do so by established authority.
Then the apologists blame Congress for not reeling in the NSA, which at least some tried, including members of both parties, and sat that Obama is helpless, that he hasn't the authority to tell them what to do although he does to a large degree, but he can usurp the power of others when he doesn't like what's happening. He can commit criminal conspiracy and yes I think that could be grounds for impeachment, but can't change how the NSA operates, then he announces he's making changes. Kumbaya indeed.

I think he'd be the perfect candidate on the Dem ticket. The fact that he's in the early stages of dementia should just heighten his appeal. He'll be an historic first, our first drooling President. Hank Johnson would be a great VP because it's important to have a VP that won't upstage the President in the brains department. This worked well for Obama. It's a winning formula now.

That Obama had to take him out of circulation because he kept saying really, really dumb things and doing really, really dumb things means he's been oppressed and that is always a good Presidential trait. And how much more damage could he actually do on the international stage? Obama has already turned our friends into enemies and made our enemies respect us even less. Ol' plugs couldn't fuck that up even one iota more. He couldn't get us into a war because we don't have the resources to wage one.

In all seriousness, I really hope they run him. But the first Hispanic transsexual to enter the race will take Biden out of the running. Historic firsts are important qualifiers for Presidents in the eyes of the left.

Actually Biden might be a better choice than the current office holder in that he's had to work with members of Congress for some time. That body is divided because we as a nation are at political odds. On the Republican side we have a group of people who won't compromise and the Democrats are in a similar situation by telling the Republicans they are willing to compromise by allowing the Republicans to agree with them. That's sad but that's what the collective "we" want. Obama seems perfectly willing to put his own agenda ahead of any of this and the law be damned. At least Biden has been around long enough to be able to work with people instead of compromise by intimidation or usurpation.

The question would be if any future President will feel much compulsion to do so after the current office holder has seen fit to ignore proper legal options but goes as far as to provide guidelines for breaking the law itself and promises it will not be enforced while openly stating the activity is illegal.

Hopefully Biden hasn't gone insane.

Biden wouldn't be running against Obama. But I hear ya and they are very valid observations. But you look at the race through the eyes of a moderate.

The left wants a continuation and escalation of what they have right now. They see no reason to work together. The right has been demonized into being sub-human Neanderthals. Too many that vote Democrat would find it totally repugnant to work together with people they deem to be that out of touch. The major issues of the day to this group are back burner issues to anyone with a minimal education or life experience. But the Democrats have them in the forefront because that's how they win elections. The economy is hard, job loss is too hard, the shrinking middle class is too hard, but LGBT rights, well that's something we can sure as shit tackle!

I wasn't kidding, Biden is in the early stages of dementia. You don't make that many mistakes at that level with that degree of frequency and chalk it up to being just the mistakes people make. His party will not allow him to run.

Edit: After the mid-terms we may end up with Biden if the country wakes up and decides there's an advantage to restoring a balance of power in our government. I think the chances are very slim though. There will be no changes until after the free stuff runs out. He who promises the most wins.

Stop picking the selfish answer to every single issue and we will stop viewing you as a Neanderthal.

"advantage to restoring a balance of power in our government"

Laughable.

You do realize that your side isn't being targeted unfairly because of some grand conspiracy, right? That maybe the actions or inactions of your party directly influence how everyone views them?

If you don't want the right to be viewed as Neanderthals, why don't you start writing to your Congressmen and telling them to pull their heads out of their asses. The way that Obama appears to be shitting the bed the last 6 months, your side should be "winning the war."

The problem is, your side is so damn screwed up, it makes choosing a Democrat the only option. Quit playing the victim card.

Well is there a republican party anymore? I mean there so split up and disorganized there were 4 responses to Obama's speeches. Embarrassing they cant keep their party together.

In a way I agree with this. I've come to think that Joe Biden has been much more instrumental in the few achievements that Obama administration has under their belts.. So in a way, I would also like to see Obama impeached.

A few commercial spots of his gaffs and we would have Republican dominance and destruction of the Country again.
maybe not..especially if Tom Cruz...oops Ted cruz is involved in any way shape of form...

These republican have way too much excess baggage. If they do not or cannot unite I am not sure any republican can be elected...

i dont see how it cant be hillary clinton considering how much those who are dishonest win.
and the fact that the DNC is not going to be as democratic as they were in '08 means that the "power elite" will choose their own.
and the fact that McAulliffe was picked by the party bosses, and then not even expressly consented to by a full fourth of Virginians 18 years of age or older.

so i really think that rand paul will be the RNC nominee simply because his father is determined to see his son be president. rand hasnt made the errors the others who want to run have... he is too skilled of a politician, he is simply playing his cards right at every step of the way. he already has at least some of Romney's closest supporters on his side including those who didnt like his father. so i am thinking he will beat hillary clinton by about 3 percentage points in the pop vote unless Jesse V runs. clinton will win the electoral though, because the democrats do much better with that... all they have to do is go to areas in arizona where there are many Conservative U.S. Citizens of Mexican descent, even more Conservative than i, give them some juice at a rally, get them out to vote, and then Hillary Clinton and a third party will have cheated Rand Paul and his supporters into servitude. Rand paul will also pick up jewish votes, he may even get more than 1/2 the jewish vote because Dr. David Duke told him to grow a pair and because Hillary cLinton started bitchin at her husband's friend. i heard she even called the dude an "F Jew Bastard" and i doubt that was made up. it sounds exactly like something she would say. she loves the word bastard and loves to use the initial for "Fuck" rather than say the full thing. she also gets really, really angry, even more so than i did when i was a kid.

and due to all that i hope that i wont be alive in January 2017. and i hope i wont be brought back to life after january 2017 because hillary clinton may start using people as objects and she seems like she would raise taxes on the middle class (VAT or excise taxes)... she will come to realize that taxing high incomes cant fund the shit she wants alone.

Hopefully, this country will not elect Hillary or Biden. The next president is going to be a republican. He will get most of the black vote, since Obama didn't do shit for them.

This is where you lost me. I enjoyed the FDR LBJ fusion though. Joe Biden is business as usual for the Democrat party. Biden is light years from the American population on constitutional concerns, 2nd amendment rights, trade policy, and immigration. He represents the status quo of Washington just as much as Obama does, or Hillary Clinton would, or John Kerry would.

Your point regarding the many ideas and factions in the Republican party is factually correct however I disagree with your conclusion. As far as party politics go a voter or active supporter for the Republican party has more power to influence the party ideology now more than ever, and the opportunity to project that ideology nationally.
