Finally! Closed on Friday. Closing costs were a few thousand more than expected, but I'm finally in the new house. Old house is already rented and occupied by my tenants.
3 bedroom, LR, DR, kitchen, office, 1 bath, Florida room, large 2 car attached garage,
nice sized barn, 16 acres w/ slate bottomed stream... 44K
Heating system needs work, so we put in a nice coal stove (like a pellet stove - looks like a wood stove, glass front, etc.). I always forget how heavy a cast iron stove is. The house was 13 degrees when we arrived yesterday. I left the coal stove going on high last night - it was over 100 degrees in the dining room this morning. Niiiiiice 🙂 (and, it cost less to heat that house for 1 day from colder than ice to 100 than it costs to heat my old house with natural gas for a day at 65 degrees)
Water on Tuesday, then we move in. (hopefully the water goes smoothly - getting the well tested, etc.) I've gotta install a water softener for it probably.
