WOW, the coincidence is uncanny.
My cousin had her cluster malfunction at 30k miles... and the battery kept dying as well.
Must be a widespread problem among VW's... one thing that kept me away from them.
I kinda like Jettas.

I don't dislike all VW, just the one I had experiences with. If I had $ for a 'cheap' car I would consider a stripped down VW GTI 1.8T for about $20K but the service department will suck you dry...

If I was to choose between the Altima and the Maxima, based only on the fact that I have driven a 2001 GXE and only seen an Altima, I would still go with the Maxima. 🙂
