I just got the call no less than 10 minutes ago!

I am now Plant Engineer with Crown Metal Packaging with Maintenance Scheduling, Project Management and Production Supervisor as my roles within the company.

Job starts at $56,000...average of my graduating class is no more than $45,000.

I'm soooooo happy!!!!!!!!

Time to buy a house, car and cell phone!😀

Edit: Just signed the agreement today, 56.4k to start, 58.6k in January, and 60.8k upon completion of one year. Also included is 2 weeks vacation for the remaining of 2005 and health/dental/pension.

Congratulations!

You might want to ask to have this moved to OT. Not really a P&N thing. It's good news for you, but pretty much everyone else will want it moved.

P&N is my home...everyone knows that.

I don't think OT will care.

woah dude, take your time. Build up a little cash reserve first. (and some credit) Before getting buried in monthly payments.

That's where rich parents come in...
I'll rent my place, it's no more than $400 around this area. Dad will buy me the car, and the rest is history. $56k is a lot of cash in Canada (healthcare covered, etc).

Ahh, didnt know about the Rich Parents/Free Car/Canada factors, I'm more of an independent person, havent gotten help from the parents since high school.

Congrats

edit: Is that average starting salary from your school for engineers or everyone? That would seem pretty low for engineers.

I paid 90% of my university, room/board/tuition...but dad helped me get good summer jobs, helped me get this job.

But I did come from a wealthy family. Was never spoiled though...ie. never had a car, money from parents, etc.

Plus I don't have to pay for healthcare, high housing costs, etc.
56k will allow me to invest more in some of my amazing stock picks 😉
