Go around lifting lots of heavy things. And lots of killing kittens. You should heal up in a jiffy.

I had that done a year ago. It isnt bad. The only thing you cant do right away is lift heavy things. Sitting in place for long periods of time gets very uncomfortable, and is furthermore, not advised. You will be told to keep moving and do not just lay down all the time, it makes the pain and stiffness last longer. I would recommend getting a couple books, video games, and movies, as you will wear down pretty quick, healing takes alot of energy. But plan on walking around the house a lot to keep everything stretched out.

man....that sucks. I hope you get to feeling better. Having a hernia can be pretty rough.

Hope things go well, be sure to check back in with us when the surgery is over. Yeah, excercise and stretching is best, just do what the doc says and stay loose.

I've actually had a hernia surgery before, so I know the process fairly well. The gas anesthesia made be sick to my stomach for a month if I ever smelled anything like it. The actual surgery wasn't bad. This time the anesthesia was fine, but the actual surgery has been a little more painful.

The surgery went well. I didn't get up much yesterday because it had my stomach feeling bad. I've been walking around more today, and I can tell it's already getting better.

Surgery is fun!

I did that 6 years ago. I was dreading the surgery but shouldn't have waited. It was easy. General anesthetic, not gas and the next thing I knew I was waking up. It was plug/patch and I healed quickly. I didn't return to the gym until a year ago and at first ab work would irritate the plugged area, but it isn't an issue anymore. Overall, ICE area for at least 24 hours after the surgery and listen to them on the lifting restrictions and you should be good to go.

Edit: I just looked at the date, how are things going?

Had it done two years ago. For the love of god move around and stretch as soon as possible! My doc didn't tell me this and I still have some pain and tightness in the area every once in a while.
