Some guy buried a shiotload of gold and silver. Roughly about 30 million worth. He left an incripted message with a best friend of his and said that if no one returned for it in 10 years (after the civil war was expected to be over) that he would be mailed a decription key. The guy never got it and has since died. I have a copy of the encrypted location.
I see. In that case, when you are rich beyond the dreams of Avarice (thank you, djheater), please contact me regarding some excellent beachfront property.

In Arizona.

if this encrypted message were legit (which has to be determined) then the ENCRYPTION of course is the key.

I think the one decrypting the message should get a fair share on the gold because without it you're f****d 🙂

$10MIO is want i want...say yes and i start up my VB right now 🙂 Despites, you would have to proof to me that this encrypted msg is legit....

BTW. i remember seeing something about it on the history channel once....the decryption cannot be THAT easy....and, how do you know your de-cryption algo works ? Guessing ?

I don't have the patience to get into it. Hell I don't have the patience to work with this damn thing in notepad on my own.

Why is it that I've seen more complicated issues solved faster and more easily (if they even existed in the first place) by programmers in junior high?
Well do you usually give junior high kids your homework? Then tell them theres a buried treasure chest with 30 million dollars in it that you are willing to split if they do it for you?

What you quoted is a bitter and cheap shot at someone else on this forum. Kindly eat the peanuts from my sh|t and die? kthnxbye.

I sent you your algorithm for the letters 71 chars off, I'll take my millions in small unmarked bills pls. 🙂
B lxgm rhn rhnk tezhkbmaf yhk max exmmxkl 71 vatkl hyy, B'ee mtdx fr fbeebhgl bg lftee ngftkdxw ubeel iel. 😀

(the word thing wouldn't be too difficult either, but probably not worth the effort to code, taht's not so hard to do by hand)

A simple shell script would do it, yo could make it portable to MSH if you wanted to, I would probably want to use tsch but bash would work just fine, however if i wanted a portable script, i would use ksh.

This is no big deal you know, give me a 92.6% cut and i will write one for you. 😉

You have to realize that people are skeptic of this, it sounds pretty far out.

And you think I'm buying right into it? lol... give me some credit, would ya?

So has anyone written this, or should I? Seriously, this is like a 10 minute project.

I've got two versions so far. Each does something completely different. I'd be interested in seeing how well you can follow directions, Evadman

Oh hell, I misunderstood. I thought you meant it needed to shift 71 letters in the alphabet, not 71 actual letters. Bah.
