I'm going to be rich! Anyone else want to help me for a cut?

Anyone got an easier way of taking a document of 2000 words or so and rearranging the words on a base-71 system? For example, take the 71st word from the current document and make it the first word of the new document. Then, counting from that spot, take the next 71st word from the current document and make that the second word in the new document.

Also, I'll also need to do this with letters as well.

Other than going word-by-word with the mouse and copy/pasting away, anybody got a faster way of doing this?

Thousands of pounds of silver and thousands of pounds of gold are just beyond my grasp. Anyone who legitimately helps me, gets a share.

someone adept in programming could probably whip up something in 10 minutes, assuming you have a standard plain old text doc, instead of a fancy office file or something.

write a simple for or if-else routine in whatever language you fancy, and pass the text through it?
😛

to count words, have the programme count the number of spaces, to count letters, have the programme ignore spaces?

Hehe. other than that, I have no idea

How much of a share are we talking here? I'd be ok with just a single pound of either, in fact.

But seriously, I put my bid in at $100; with a guarantee of it being done by this time tommorow night.

this is so easy, why dont i have my c++ installed ?

Was thinking the same. If noone has done anything when I knock off work I'll do it. It's really quite a simple program.

That shouldn't be too hard. I haven't written anything in ~2.5 years, but I did enough to know that's doable. I'd take a shot at it if I had C++ installed, although it's probably also doable in BASIC.

This would be rather easily done in VB, or VBA.

More information regarding this particular portion, perhaps? Vital to the project, it is.

That's exactly why nobody is going to get the original document that needs to be rearranged.
Do not require the document itself; merely a general synopsis (in non-specific terms) of how the implementation would lead to any sort of payout.

if its only 2000 words you could do that by hand in 30 minutes or less i'd think, why write a program when there are only going to be 28 words in the final doc.

He probably figured out the encryption pattern on something or other.

HL2?

(Trying to get the nerds to work for you 😉 😛 )

Some guy buried a shiotload of gold and silver. Roughly about 30 million worth. He left an incripted message with a best friend of his and said that if no one returned for it in 10 years (after the civil war was expected to be over) that he would be mailed a decription key. The guy never got it and has since died. I have a copy of the encrypted location.

For some reason that sounds like a really fvcked up chain story.

Unless the guy is a friend, in that case I'm sorry.
