Im going to a skiing tomorrow! Never done it before...

Actually, my friend tells me they can rent you snowboards also. I think Im just gonna rent a snowboard. I skateboarded alot when I was alot younger. I think it would be pretty similar....right?

Wear a pad for your arse becasue you are going to fall about 100 times. Take a lesson, they help more than you can imagine!!!!!

the pain train is coming woman, WHOO WHOOO!!

snowboarding is lots o' fun. advice: no matter how much you suck, stick with it. and take a lesson. if you still suck after like... 4 or 5 lessons, then its okay to give up. cause you suck for real.

Well, snowboards have a shorter but steeper learning curve. If you're going to try snowboarding, go up at least 3 times within a couple of weeks! If you don't, you'll be wasting your time.

For a beginner, if something gets in your way, and u havent grasped on the technique to brake, i suggest you try to lean back and fall on your back. this way, your ass wont take all of the weight everytime u fall. and yeah prepare to fall just about everytime 10 secs after u get up. Get a good pair of gloves, cuz a cheap pair will wear out after the first time with a beginner.

I'd try skiing first. You'll spend most of the day on your as* with the snowboard. I'm also a purist, so I prefer skiing to snowboarding anyway. I also telemark ski and that's really old school.

I'm pretty good at snowboarding...been doing it for 7 seasons now. There's nothing anyone can say that will help you on your first trip. You will fall down often and there's nothing you can do about it. Practice makes perfect so don't give up.

Snowboarding is much harder to pick up than skiing, fyi.

lol, I saw this kid fly down the mountain in skis screaming at the top of his lungs. He gets to the bottom of the run (not the hill mind you) on a straight-away and losses it. He fell in an explosion of snow, ski's and poles everywhere. Pretty funny since he wasn't hurt permanently. Anyway, don't do that.

My advice is to rent a leg cast and put it on and sit around the fireplace drinking some hot drink and all the hot chicks will want to mother you because you just broke your leg.

definitely take a lesson. my first time i tried learning on my own and that was terrible. i took a lesson in the afternoon and by the end of the day i was linking turns together on the intermediate trails.

your skateboarding background may make it a bit easier once you get the basic mechanics down.

good luck and enjoy!

No, they will think you suck so much that you got hurt and that you should die.
