Last time I went to Crap 'N Pees they seated us next to the bathrooms which based only on smell I could tell some one had shit all over. I haven't been back since. There were plenty of other tables that weren't so close but who knows what mystery system they use for seating arrangements, I just know eating near an overflowing dirty toilet was not something I requested.
 
Applebee's is ok, definitely not my favorite. Chili's which is owned by the same company is a lot better, although still somewhat salty.

Its more or less the same around here. All the "localvores" (ugh) claim the small places are some sort of utopia dining experience but the truth is they are actually pretty awful with a few notable exceptions. I'd say on average the chains are probably a bit better quality. At least they usually aren't housed in fly (and probably rodent) infested buildings from the 1800s.

While its probably more due to their generally closer proximity to the colleges, the chains have way hotter waitresses then the local places. Most local places seem to have worn out middle aged women.

That's not to say I haven't been to plenty of horrendous or at least unappealing chains.
 
Eat?

I wont even drink draft beer at Applebees. They let it sit then put salt in it to make it look fresh and lie that they dont when you call them on it.
 
I kind of <3 applebees.

Unless you eat salty food all the time, going out and having a salty meal won't affect you. So try not to have 200% RDA of sodium before you even walk through the door and then complain about salty food.

Their beer is fine, maybe some applebees in some areas are run like shit just like any chain can have an individually shit manager, but as far as I can tell the beer is fine too.
 
My 10 year old wants to go to Applebee's. Should I whoop his ass and send him to his room?
 
I like how there's threads like this, but then the next "hey Wendy's has a new hamburger" thread, everyone goes in and jerks off about how great it is.

So far the only valid complaints I've read are the guy that sat next to the toilets and Shorty complaining about the twat that took two parking spaces.

I had a valid point with them using cheaper products to make their food
 
I've ate at Applebees a handful of times, and never had an issue. Food tasted good, service was good, and bill wasn't too bad.

chili's is owned by brinker. crapplebee's is owned by ihop (now "DineEquity").

Our Chili's here blows noodles. They have no food on their menu just 3 pages of drinks and appetizers. At least Applebee's has something I would want to eat.
 
I guess it is important to point out the obvious items on a restaurant menu that say "NEW!!!" or have the little "RECOMMENDED!!!" Apple logo or "WEIGHT WATCHERS!!!" are the high profit margin shit meals.

You then narrow your choices down to 1-2 real food choices per category, which are pretty good. It applies to all restaurants. Oriental Chicken salad comes to mind as good, their recommended steak meal comes to mind as bad, their bacon burger is also good, and can be cooked to medium fairly well too, etc. Their chicken pasta meal is a rip off etc.
 
The only time I ever go to Applebees is for the specials after 9pm. Half off appetizers and some drink specials, its a decent deal to get some boneless wings and a beer for like $6.
 
Last time I went there was about three years ago. My wife finds a 2 foot long black hair in her veggies as our waiter (short blond hair) is walking up to the table. Asked how everything is and when my wife says something about the hair, that douche laughed about it. Had to call the manager over and we got a whopping 10&#37; off the bill. Never again will I step foot inside an Applebees.
 
For the first time in my life I am doing something I previously thought disgusting: I am neffing from the commode.
Why?
Cuz I may not live to see morning.
2nd night in a row I have bad indigestion keeping me awake. In fact this time I think I may refund from both ends. Was feeling sluggish and queasy all day, now its possible you guys might make good on my last will and testament.

FUCKING APPLEBEES!
The restaurant Peptol Bismol could not cure!
