lol. well, i got it summer of last year.. it's served me well though. i used to get 3.5Mbps with 30-40ms pings on the @home service.

that one sweet setup/video card.. blows the GF4 away.. i think the highest 3dmarks ive seen for a gf4 are in the mid-15000 or maybe alittle less.. been awhile since ive even bothered. but that's some card.

Well, I noticed a slight difference when I subscribed, even on dialup. Those adds take up HUGE bandwidth. Anyway, look at it this way: I'm still on dialup until Monday

look at cable? if available usually lots faster for the same price per month
i have has dial up, as slow as 21k
dsl at aprox 300k
and cable, at avg 1,000k download according to dslreorts.com

i use a linksys router hub,hubbed to another old 3 com hub
that is hooked up to 5 computers running Seti@home in the other room;
so i might be a little faster if i went direct to the cable modem....

Some places have 512kbps upstream.

If you want to host a server of some kind and need vast amounts of upstream, get DSL and pay for a 768up/768down or something similar. But, for regular internet users like myself who don't need ungodly amounts of upstream, 1.5Mbps is fine with me.
