when i first looked at cuts, I thought that round was the best... then as I looked more and more, the princess really stood out to me, and when I finally picked the actual diamonds, my diamond guy made sure he got some real quality stones. they shine and sparkle like nothing I've seen before. screw the mall when looking for a ring, their stones dont compare! haha

Cool. Whutta guy. She's a lucky girl. I used to only really like marquis cut, but I really like the look of princess and I like round too, but I think princess is one of my favorites at the moment.
 
Dude, now I'm all feeling sappy and excited for you. You have to tell us how this turns out. Man a ferry ride to a castle.... Good choice. You seem to have a dramatic flair. That's great, because (generalization mode on) women really appreciate such gestures (generalization mode off).

Not with any girls I know.. and trust me, I know some spoiled girls. You could still take a dump in a blue Tiffany box and hand it to them, and they'll cherish it forever.

Congrats! 3.5 years is good timing... it'll be 4 for us in June.

I just picked up my ring for the woman about 1.5 hours ago actually... she has no idea it's coming or what I'm planning...

Somewhat similar: 1.06ct in a Tiffany/Platinum setting ... no sidestones though, I wanted to keep it looking simple. I can share your enthusiasm... sweet times eh? Good luck!!!!

I hope all goes well. Unless her parents are like some kind of nuts I'm sure they'll give you their blessing.
As for your girlfriend soon to be fiancee. Keep in mind what kind of setting she prefers when you pop that kind of question.
My wife was the kind of woman who preferred being popped the big question in private. Some woman envision it in a restaurant, some cuddled up in some nice quiet place, some an exotic vacation spot. I doubt she'll mind either way, but if you can find out, so much the better.
