shame it's all self inflicted.

Oh I have no one to blame but myself. Still sucks though since I am trying to get my life somewhat back together.

Did your old medical records show you've done it or what? Why did your doctor give them the records?

just think... there are 2 choices.... keep trying, pull yourself together and find a job, or just give up and die

don't worry. start by looking for any job... ANY JOB. car mechanic, mcdonalds... whatever. just start making money, then find a job that will reimburise you for school, then go to a community college and build up your grades while studying whatever you like. eventually you'll get there.

is that road going to be easy? no. but do you have any other options except to keep on trying? no.

so go get some sleep, wake up tomorrow and it's a brand new day. go try your best, and giving up is NOT an option.

Fair? The AF has the right to require anything they want barring discrimination based on that huge list of crap. If you've done drugs and they don't want people who have a history of drug abuse in the AF, it's their right to refuse entry. Just because some guy got into the AF 30 years ago and did drugs at another point in his life hardly makes this unjust or unfair.

yeah, i'm with you. the air force is in charge of our ballistic missiles. i don't want someone with a habit selling nuclear secrets for an eight ball.

Yeah...I hear they give a manila folder with all our nuclear secrets to every enlistee now...

don't be an asshat. my friend does background checks for the government, including the air force. one of the guys he did a background check on works with spy satellite technology that is classified secret. this is not a high level scientist, just a regular air force guy but he is exposed to some technical data that's important, at least to some government somewhere.

Now I have no job (I have been looking for about a week now without any luck), no way to pay for college, parents on the brink of cutting me off (they have twice already, but always let me come back), and I dunno what to do with myself.

My life has really gone down the sh!tter in the last 2 months or so.. :(

Ausm has an excellent idea. They also could care less if you're doing x, coke and other stuff as long as you aren't stoned at work.
I'm pretty sure it's mandatory that you smoke dope if you want to be a Carpenter.
They'd rather you don't have any training, that way they won't have to deprogram you.
They just want a strong back and a weak mind.

Would I need an associates from a community college first, or would they just take me in as is even though I don't know anything about carpentry or wiring?

Yes, all of your medical records are compiled into a single place so that doctors can find any allergies, diseases, etc that you have so, for example, they don't accidentally give you penicillin if you're allergic to it. Plus the Air Force thingie :p.

Have you considered applying to a bunch of TV reality game shows? There are so many of them now that I would be suprised if you didn't get at least 1 or 2 auditions if you applied a few dozen of the lesser known shows on the cable networks.

Sure, it's not a career, but a few grand in prize money and some free publicity wouldn't hurt.

Sorry to hear that man. So if you tell your psychologist that you did some drugs, the military will find out about that? That sucks. If you can't tell your shrink, who can ya tell?

There are always jobs. Have you tried restaurants or UPS? That's how my dad paid for his college tuition as a new immigrant with no support at all.

Restaurant works sux for the most part...paid like shat and also treated worse then a Hatian refugee.

UPS good place to work but VERY hard to get in.

Ausm

Try FedEx too as either part time or casual. (Causal is when they call you when they're short handed).
