My cousin is 27 and she has never been able to swallow pills either. :( I have to take medicine every day, so luckily for me...I have no problem swallowing pills at all. I would do what Baff said and put them in applesauce or something. I believe that's what my cousin has done. Good luck, Kim. I hope you feel better soon! :)

<< If the pills are solid, cut them in half. easier to swallow. >>

that's not always a good idea as some meds are formulated to time release

A good friend of mine can't swallow pills either. I don't know how she takes "adult" medication at all, but I know she has always had a major issue with pills.

Me, I have no problem with pills at all :)

I take six pills a day (eight on Fridays) and have developed the useful talent of being able to dry-swallow multiple pills at a time. Why bother with getting a glass of water?

Don't seem to have problems with pills or needles but I HATE those things they use to prick your finger for those blood tests.

Actually, some of the medical sources I've read say that that's not always a good thing. Some pills can be/are meant to be broken in half, and those will have a line at their midpoints. Others, for some reason, you're not supposed to break.

Don't feel too bad, I just learned last year how to swallow pills, and I am 28. :p I had to learn, I was put on minocycline, and if you ever broke that open, ugh! Best thing I have learned is, just put the pill in your mouth, and drink like you would normally. Don't just take a mouthful and try to do it that way, by drinking you are putting your mind on something else besides the pill in your mouth.

The little finger pricker is nothing... that's like less than a static shock from your carpet... but needles man! AH! NEEDLES!

wanna hear something weird? i donate whole blood ~every two months and donate platelets every three weeks or so. donating platelets involves sitting in a chair for about an hour and a half with a needle in each arm, sucking blood out at one end, running it through a machine to extract the platelets and then having it pumped back in on the other side.

i have no problem with this...but i absolutely HATE it when they prick my finger to test my blood before every donation!
