We had some texas instruments...thing, which was a keyboard, a cassette drive, and a 19 inch tv in the back room. Spent hours typing in code for a game I'd play for an hour.

Yup. I got it out of some magazine. And yes, I spent more time typing the code (and the associated debugging) than playing the game.

The first game I purchased (well it was a Christmas gift) was Raaka Tu.... a cassette game.

I'm a real gamer because I spend most of my time slamming every game remotely popular while slamming every gamer for not finishing it on uber difficult. I also will slam any and all hardware platforms because they can't compete with whatever hardware is competing with it at that time. I also love to tell everyone how a relaxation hobby is completely being destroyed by the gaming makers because they're not calling me directly and listening to my plans on how to make a game that's so unplayable you'd have to major in it at college. By the way I should point out I totally finished that game and that's why I'm a REAL gamer not you noobz playing CoD, which I'd totally own you at cause I'm that good at it.

I used QEMM, which I believe stands for Quarterdeck Expanded Memory Manager. It worked wonders :thumbsup:

In answer to your question directly then yes I prefer to be called that or many other things than a loser with no life which as I alluded previously to is often stereotyped with those who would define themselves "real gamers".
