Just a head up that people with ~0 integrity don't really change. It's not like he's going to stop demanding certain papers or do anything to make it easier to get them.
The State of Taj is going to make all it's official State identifications free to get, they only require a DNA sample, fingerprints, retina scan and you'll get a temporary identification within a week and a permanent identification within 25 working days. Even if you lose your State of Taj identification it will be replaced for free.

It was a reply to agent oaf who seemed to be saying I was my own state. I keep forgetting that liberals don't have a sense of humor when the jokes on them.

You have no idea about what humor is to begin with, it appears.

Try again in the distant future.

This is P&N. Any time someone admits that they were wrong it's a special day ;)

Saw this today, found it timely:
Do voter identification laws suppress minority voting? Yes. We did the research.

[ ... ]
There is, of course, widespread debate about the merits of these new laws. Proponents claim that ID laws are necessary to reduce fraud and to restore trust in the democratic system. Critics claim that voter ID laws serve as effective barriers that limit the legitimate participation of racial and ethnic minorities and other disadvantaged groups.

Who is right? Scholars have been able to show that racial and ethnic minorities have less access to photo IDs, and extensive analysis reveals almost no evidence of voter fraud of the type ostensibly prevented by these laws. But determining just how many Americans are prevented from actually voting is another question altogether. The key question is not whether there could be worrisome effects from these laws, but whether clear-cut shifts in electoral participation and outcomes have actually occurred. Do voter identification laws skew the electorate in favor of one set of interests over others?
[ ... ]
Hispanics are affected the most: Turnout is 7.1 percentage points lower in general elections and 5.3 points lower in primaries in strict ID states than it is in other states. Strict ID laws mean lower African American, Asian American and multiracial American turnout as well. White turnout is largely unaffected.

These laws have a disproportionate effect on minorities, which is exactly what you would expect given that members of racial and ethnic minorities are less apt to have valid photo ID. ...

Ignoring the whole who has an ID vs who doesn't. I do believe if IDs were free and easily obtained most of the people without ID would have ID.
My main problems are
Currently drivers license costs money its a revenue generator. What happens if it becomes free?
Who will decide if an ID is valid at the voting booth? What is the appeal process?
How much time will it take to verify every ID, how much time will it add to the voting process?
What happens if some yahoo decides to decline every ID from a caramel colored or darker individual
What happens if some yahoo decides to inspect thoroughly for 10 minutes plus every ID from a caramel colored or darker person?

It doesn't add much time at all, the person looks at the photo ID, verifies it against the registered voter list This last election people showing voter registration cards and having it verified against the registered voter list took the same amount of time.

As for IDs, Texas provides special birth certificates to acquire voter IDs free for those who could not afford to get normal IDs. They even had portable offices going to the districts to aid in getting the IDs. Very few took the state free offer to get voter IDs.

But who decides if the picture on the ID is the picture of the person waiting to vote?

The person verifying it is the person is registered to vote. In 2012 the lines where photo IDs were required moved as quickly as they did this past November. Never saw anyone's ID being questioned in 2012, the voters in Fort Bend County, Texas are quite diverse.
