You're opinion is a self serving one, as in it's always about you or how anyone who has to get somewhere fast has the right of way.
My opinion is self serving? I don't think you actually understand what self serving means. Here let me help you out with a scenario. You may recognize it from earlier:
Person 1 is going 65.000001 miles an hour to pass person 2 who is going 65 miles per hour in a 70mph zone. Person 1 is currently holding up 20+ cars that are trying to go the speed limit.
Ok - who is the person with the most self serving attitude? If we were to believe you it would be all of the 20+ people behind person 1 yet not person 1. But lets
look at the definition of self serving:
serving one's own interests often in disregard of the truth or the interests of others
Lets break this down logically. I know logical thinking is not your strong point (see: absolutes and hyperboles) but stay with me here. The most self serving attitude is the one that is in disregard to the most people in the scenario. This would be person 1 as they have decided that their time and actions are far more important than the 20+ cars behind them.
With all the serious accidents on busy highways these days, the last thing we need is to inconvenience the selfish assholes who cannot plan ahead for anything in life.
A smart person always prepares for the unknowing, a flat tire or even traffic jams. That is why such a person would be equipped, keep their car mechanically in check and ..dare i say it, leave sooner than you plan to arrive so you don't have to zig zag or worry about one car doing 65.0000001 mph, much less have a flat tire, wait for train..etc. It's not hard to think once in a while.
Hmmm...so you think that just because I want people to exercise a modicum of consideration on the road it means I can't plan for anything or left late for something? You are going to have to explain your thinking as it makes no sense (And I doubt it could be logically supported). How early do you leave for work? You say you plan for traffic jams - but do you really? You may not live near a city so you may not have any idea about what you are trying to talk about but it is entirely possible for an accident to create a traffic jam that will delay traffic for 3 hours or more. So - would you leave for work 3 hours early every single day to plan for this? Or would you think once in a while and realize that is not realistic?
If you want to follow this thought pattern a bit farther you might also realize that not everyone who is going faster than you is late for something. I know I know - its hard to change the preconceptions we hold that allow us to be assholes towards other people but if you really try you might realize that some of these people might have actually left on time and feel comfortable doing the speed limit that the government has deemed safe for the particular road in question.
I think the difference between you and I is when I see a bunch of people lined up behind me wanting to pass I feel bad for holding them up. I am mature enough to realize that I am not the only person in the world and that my actions affect others - in this case the people behind me. The feeling intensifies the more people behind me. The more people behind me the more I feel like a dick for forcing them to bend to my own wishes and interests. So I make my pass as quickly as possible and then move over. However it seems you just go apeshit and make all kinds of unsubstantiated, frothing at the mouth claims about how they obviously can't plan and just assume that they didn't leave early enough. (Which makes no sense as you clearly don't have any evidence to that effect)
