Miami survives just fine with mostly Spanish speaking. You can go days without hearing English anywhere plus it may do Americans some good to learn a second language good for brain.

I don't doubt that it might be good for the locals to learn another language. I do however find it more close minded that the foreigner does not adapt to the locals.

I have lived in Miami and I find it pretty crazy that someone who was born here cannot get help at Walgreens because an immigrant does not want to learn the local language.

Man dies and you people cheer. Because he was an illegal immigrant.

He probably didn't understand English. Knowing these racist American cops shot first before asking questions I bet.

Thats a delicious straw man you got there! Should be good for some sturdy long burning flames tonight or tomorrow.

I sure hope they shot before asking the guy anything, if they hadn't shot a guy pointing an AK at them no matter what language he was speaking, or understood they shouldn't be on the job.

Hey at least the guy had a gun, the NK guards probably just shoot you on site, unarmed or not.

I don't care if the man was here legally or illegally or if he was white, black, or brown. If someone points a gun at you what do you do? Either duck or if you have a weapon, shoot. The cop was called to the scene and my understanding is that shots had already been fired.

Of course I don't expect someonje blinded by race (such as yourself) to be able to see the truth of what I just said.

LOL, seriously?? So it's good for the native Americans to learn spanish as a second language but expecting the hispanics to learn English is asking too much? Really??

What happened to individual freedoms?

And since it's a private establishment, isn't it his right to not serve anyone who doesn't speak Spanish?

Like I said before, when you are in Rome, act like Romans. If the store owner doesn't want to speak English, then don't demand "press 2 for Spanish". Comprende, amigo?

Also, see the reply from nobodyknows. Why should we have to make exceptions to Hispanics/Latinos? Millions of immigrants came here and learned English and became citizens. Why can't Hispanics/Latinos do the same <assuming they are LEGAL, but it is another subject for another thread>.

Pretty sure they would use Peligro, not advertencia :p

I'd say it depends. Spanish is used in different ways in Spanish speaking countries.
For this particular case, I believe 'advertencia' is better suited.

Yep, because anywhere else in the world it's just fine to point an assault rifle at a uniformed officer. You really need to speak Spanish to get across the point "If you don't put that down I'll shoot you"? Come on, the guy was a stupid fucking criminal. And one here illegally, the worst kind. The more of these invading criminals that leech our tax dollars we can get rid of, the better.

No one can play stupid like you can.

So you think you can tell people what language they can speak in their own business? What next, their own homes? Get out of this country.

As far as I am concerned you can use whatever language you want in your business, last thing we need is here is some type of language police like they have in that bastion of free speech, Quebec. That said you should have 0 expectations of being dealt with in any language other than English when interacting with government services and officials. If they choose to offer alternatives that is all well and good but should never be required by law.

I already tried to ignore you (post # 66) but you sure push my button. Did you see my other post or you are too fucking stupid to read? And that post was not even address to you, you fucking stupid busy brownnose.

If his store is in the US, he needs to speak English with non-Spanish speaking customers

Where the FUCK did I TELL him/her what to do. Did I say "HAVE TO" or else? Not only you ARE STUPID but you ARE A FUCKING LIAR, and not a good one at that.

Like I said before, when you are in Rome, act like Romans. If the store owner doesn't want to speak English, then don't demand "press 2 for Spanish".

You need to get the fuck out of here. Why don't you and your kind move to Mexico, speak English only, and then demand Mexican government do "press 2 for English", print documents and reports in English, etc., then tell us how they would treat you. Comprende, stupid lying bitch?

The bolded part in your post is exactly my point. If a person doesn't want to speak English in the US, then don't expect/demand "press 2 for Spanish". What will be next? Press 3 for Chinese, press 4 for Korean, press 5 for Klinton, press 6 for Elbonic? When will it be enough? Why should non speaking Spanish people have to adapt and we can not expect the same from Hispanics/Latinos?

Not only government but companies are doing that too. I am looking at you, AT&T (I am sure there are other companies).
