I think the body needs sleep. Isn't there a disorder where people can't sleep (not insomnia, it's one step farther), and in the end it kills them?

I think the max I have slept was about 11hrs maybe 12hrs solid. This means not waking up and actually being asleep and not just being a lazy mfo 😱

Oh well if you going to put those restrictions on it, then no I havn't slept that long (straight through) But I can be pretty lazy!
 
LOL. I don't think I could ever stay up for more than 265 hours unless I was in some sort of pain (I wouldn't want to be in that amount of pain of course) or was constantly doing something that kept me on my feet (walking or something).

How did the guy do it? Can you take drugs and stuff to stay awake, or is that the "natural insomniac" world championship we're talking about here?
 
uh i read about a radio host trying to break the record for longest anyone has stayed awake.....and he started freakin out and seeing things.... and aparently later his wife said he acts differently after this incident (ie brain damage or something)

i had a friend in hs that got 1 hour of sleep for about 5-6 days he started seeing things and kinda went insane.....

even if you only get like 3-4 hours of sleep a night for a long period of time it catches up to you and u still freak out

Yeah I saw that show too. It was on the discovery channel, he was trying for 7 days, and made it because other people took shifts keeping him awake. He was seeing spiders all over the place, then he slept for 24 hours straight, but after that apparently he was a LOT more violent, got divorced by his wife, and I can't remember if he committed suicide, or died of natural causes, but he didn't make it more than a few years past the stunt iirc.

My record is 38 hours straight @ work when I was @ Home Depot. Bernie Marcus was coming to our store. (He was the CEO at the time) I came in, worked my ass off, shook hands with him, then drove home and passed out. Next thing I know I hear the phone ringing. I answer it and it is my boss telling me I am late for work. I got into an argument saying tuesday was my day off. The problem was that it was wednesday. I slept from about 7pm Monday to Noon on Weds. I lost a whole fricking day 😛
