k. Just do yourself, and any buddies you might be with, a favor and be prepared to answer what/why you're protesting in case jon stewart shows up. It's pretty embarrassing to act all passionate and then have to ask a buddy what you're protesting...

S

SlitheryDee

Just vote against him next term or something.

What the hell has he done that's worth protesting anyway? I'm not exactly thrilled with him generally, but I'm also mad at the entire nation for lining up like little school children behind their parties every election.

Fuck it, I don't really care either way. You go protest, I'm taking a nap.

Why do you guys assume I'm protesting Obama? I'm actually just going to hold up a sign that says "Jerrod for Heisman" to lighten the mood of the annoying conservatives.

Careful, this forum is full of wide-eyed college kids who are just getting back from some liberal blow-hard professor's "lecture."

Interestingly, I was a conservative until well after I graduated college. Then Bush showed me the true meaning of conservatism and I've been a liberal ever since.

Bush was not a conservative. A jackass maybe, but not a true conservative.

Ah, the "no true Scotsman" defense. It's a common fallacy.

Extraordinarily common in American politics.

Couldn't possibly have anything to with the title and op...

I'll be protesting tomorrow
when Obama comes to campus.

There will be a lot of media and the public eye, so it's a perfect time to support our QB on the national spotlight.

Bush is a modern era conservative and a fine representative of the Republican breed. Conservatives in the sense you're thinking of haven't existed in decades.

No, he's not, not even close. Trying to call him one, and lump actual conservatives in with him and his ilk is pathetically, intellectually dishonest on all levels.

Kinda interesting that less than 10% of scientists and only about 15% of college professors identify themselves as republicans.
A medical or law degree takes longer than a PhD in physics but people don't like to think of doctors and lawyers as being more educated than scientists. If you want to know what the most educated people think, you should probably look a bit closer at income level since doctors, lawyers, and MBAs are typically in the higher income brackets.

http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/20.../US/H/00/epolls.0.html
The numbers in simplified terms:
-Republicans are mostly male while democrats are mostly female.
-Only ~20% of non-white people vote republican while the other ~80% vote democrat; white people are about 50-50.
-Young people tend to vote democrat while older people are more likely to vote republican.
-You are more likely to be a republican if you earn more money
-High school dropouts are 50% more likely to be democrats than republicans. Largest percentage of support for republicans (49%) is college graduates.
-Union members are mostly democrats.
-Democrats have the most solid religious support from Jews, followed by atheists. Republicans have strongest support from protestants, followed by catholics.
-Single people are more likely to be democrats; married people republican.
-People who do not have children under 18 are democrats; people with children are republicans.
-Gay people are mostly democrats.
-82% of democrats think Bush sucks; 84% of republicans approve of Bush.
-Republicans are more optimistic about the economy (in 2006)
-Most republicans (in 2006) said their financial situation was pretty good; most democrats said they were totally fucked (not in those words).
-Democrats are more likely to think the election is rigged (you can't blame them since Bush won twice in a row)
-Democrats have strong support from city people; republicans have strong support from rural, followed by suburban, and urban is last.

Not all that surprising. I live in Canada and here we see the exact same trends between liberal-conservative voting.

OP, you suck as an American citizen.

Many years ago people would be very proud that their countries leader would stop by an educational institution just to speak to the people, yet you want to protest it. He has literally been 1000x better than our previous leader, yet you want to be act like a little rebel punk.

You make no sense, and you probably smell.

Hey IM THERE !!!!
I never pass on an opportunity to protest the burdens we carry from 8 years of republican rule. Like my grandma always warned, vote the republicans in and they will destroy the country in short time. A wise old lady.

Wait... you said Obama??? ....Never mind...

Protesting makes someone a bad citizen? OK, comrade, I'll keep that in mind.

When it's just protesting to protest, well that doesn't even deserve an explanation.

Regardless of your views, this president and it's administration is leaps and bounds better than out previous bunch. No reason to act like a spoiled little bitch and waste time over nothing.

Neff posts are more productive than protesting what he thinks he is.
