Sometimes I get sick, sometimes I don't. I didn't get sick last year, but the year before that I had such a reaction that I kept throwing up and I passed out in my own vomit. How attractive...the alternative is actually getting the flu and being laid-up for a week or so...not a good thing.

We'll see what happens. If I'm going to get sick, it usually happens within 8 hours or so. I've been taking Ibuprofen and vitamins for the past 24 hours, and I have some antibiotics in my system already...taking them for a sinus-thing from a week ago.

We shall see. Mwuahahahahahaha. :p

Hahahah, funny. :p Hey, I'm one of the few here that never changed/changes his Avatar. Had The Zombie since day one...none of this Avatar Bedhopping for me! I actually look like that too...(minus the bloody lip, unless I piss the GF off) that's what's ironic about it.

I got horribly sick from the flu last year, knocked me out pretty badly for almost two weeks. Still not going to get the shot this year though, I really hate getting shots. I'm just gonna take my chances with good old influenza again. :p

Hmmm, I got mine at my work and I couldn't even hardly feel the shot it was so small. Of course I don't get sick from the shots or have any reactions either, lucky me! :)

Maybe you are just talking yourself into thinking it will make you sick.....my wife does that kind of stuff all the time.....

OK, according to my stopwatch (really) I got the shot 25 minutes ago. Feeling a little lightheaded, but that might be b/c I'm overdosing on aspirin/ibuprofen. :p If I'm not sick by about 1500 today, I'll be OK> >>>>>>keep your fingers crossed for me!

Is it just me, or do other people simply not get sick? Had the flu twice, last time at age of 7. Haven't had it since.

Don't get flu shots either. I'll let everyone else's immune system die off, thanks.

Edit - Good luck MichaelD ... remember, in the good old US of A, you always have the Right to Sue for Stupid Sh*t.

One hour. Feeling woozy....not sick, but woozy. I just at a pack of those little mini-doughnuts (the beige, crunchy ones) so hopefully a little food will settle my tummy.

Yeehaw. I get mine next Tuesday. Not very excited about it, but it's always better than having the damn flu.

I don't know if it has any scientific basis or if it's just Old Wives Tales, but it's worked for me in the past.

Allegedly, if you take aspirin 24 hours before getting the shot, then take aspirin right before, right after and for the next 24 hours, you don't get achy or sick. It has worked for me about 50% of the time.

Before I started taking the aspirin, I got sick 100% of the time immediately after getting the shot.

So you mean being doped up on painkillers numbs pain?
I think you better apply for a research grant to continue your study there. :D
Sad thing is - you'd probably GET it.

Painkillers? My kingdom for a bottle of Percocet!!! :D Aspirin is not a "painkiller" per se. It's aspirin, not a narcotic. Unfortunately.

Mike + Narcotics = :D

don't get flu shots if you haven't been feeling great, haven't been getting much sleep, stuff that makes your immunity lower
