i thought it was a pretty good list... but there were a lot of games that i had never even heard of that made it, like X-Com that made the top ten, ive never even heard that.

IGN editors are idiots. Final Fantasy X is somewhere there but Final Fantasy VII is not on the list???? WTF.

Super Metroid, A Link to the Past and Starcraft should have held top 3

Mario 64 and Zelda OOT should be like 50-99 IMO

I think it's been confirmed in the past that IGN does nothing but polish the knob of the various gaming companies in order to make money.

Super Mario Brothers 3 was better than the original Super Mario Borthers; and the original Legend of Zelda was better than Link to the Past, which was better than Ocarina of Time.

I put waaaay more hours into FFIII than II, however, I definitely enjoyed FFII more. It was much more groundbreaking, and stood out waaay more in its day. Hell, I was maybe 7 years old playing that game, and it totally enveloped my life lol, some of my friends and I would act out new story lines for the game and whatnot(which is perfectly ok for 7 year olds aiight??)

Your confusing the games. Final Fantasy II, as it is on the list, was never released in the U.S. until the remake was made for the PSX. The FFII you are referring to was actually final fantasy V I believe.

No I'm not, I'm not confusing games I put 100 hours of my childhood into. Final Fantasy II in the US was Final Fantasy IV in Japan. I don't give a rats ass what it was in Japan, I don't live in Japan. Final Fantasy III in the US was Final Fantasy VI in Japan.

Ditto. This list's the epitome of 'is suck.' Even Gamespy's put out better 'Top 100's.'

WTF is with all the crappy/mediocre console games above some of the best PC games of all-time? Super Smash Bros. Melee above all the aforementioned?!

I fail to see Elite anywhere on that list! How on Earth can you make a "top 100 games of all times" and not mention Elite!?!?!

:frown:

EDIT: Other games that are missing that should be there:

Ultima IV. This game was/is really unique. Instead of having a tangible goal (kill a bad guy, find a treasure etc. etc.), goal of this game was to become an Avatar: a personification of virtues. You had to play the game according to those virtues. That mean that you would give money to the poor, fight valiantly, let escaping enemies leave etc. etc.

Ultima V. For many, this is the ultimate (no pun intended) game in the Ultima-series. And I agree.

I wish I never bought Halo because it has done nothing but destroy my 4.0. :(

The fact alone that Doom is #44 shows that this is more of a nostalgia opinion list rather than truly the best/innovative games.
