IMO I think the OP was potentially trying to show off that he was making 50K a year and only 20 years old. Not bad considering I lose money each year due to education ;)

I didn't think it was that uncommon.

I just turned down a job offer for 67k and I'm 23.

A guy I work with now got his job when he was 19. I don't think he makes as much as me but he is probably at least ~40k + 13.2k bonus opportunity + paid OT (and that is anything over 37.5hrs).

EDIT:

I forgot another guy we work with who is 20 who just recently told me his wage and it will well exceed 53k at the end of the year.

I guess I've had experience with 2 different companies that hook up young people.

Apparently parents are no longer teaching their children that it's not appropriate and just plain tacky to talk about how much you make.

Dont kid yourself, everyone here (except you) makes at least 200K, has 5 Bentleys in the garage, and dates a new supermodel every day of the week. Now get back to work and make me some more money!

Crap!!! I only have 4 Bentleys. I'll have to pick-up another one with my year end bonus.

PSH! I have 4 Bugatti's in the backyard shed, I keep the Duesenburgh's in the main garage.

I am scoping out which banks to rob at this time.

Bad idea, not only will you do federal time but the payoff is crap. Go with a high volume grocery store, hit them up on Sunday evening and you will clear 250K +.

And who says ya never learn anything on ATOT ....

Considering the size of most people's mortgages, car loans, student loans, credit card debt, etc. Most people have a negative net worth.

$30,000. A poor paying job and go to school. But school is not paid for by me. I probably spend about $50 every month.

If I could sell everything in the house and get a good amount for the kids and wife, I would say I am even.

WTF, they consider cars/vehicles assets? omg. so wrong.

It IS an asset - they also offset the value by the amount owed.

If my car is worth $5K free and clear, is it not an asset?

For purposes of financial planning they shouldn't be considered assets I suppose as you will continue depreciating them daily until they have an effective worth of zero, but if I wanted to sell my $5K asset today, I'd have an extra $5K in cash.

It's definately an asset, but usually listed as a depreciating asset.

Not gonna share mine. I'm perfectly comfortable where I'm at though!

You can count a car as an asset, but you have to be realistic for what it's current value is and depreciate it every month.

And what exactly would be the point of this?

What's the point of ATOT? Stupid question.

ATOT = wasting time legitimately.
Your post = e-penis and nothing else.
Therefore, your post = stupid.

My profile is not much to envy...

Heh, are kidding or just dumb? I'm a 22 year-old college student, and I make ~14k a year.

edit: but I have a better car than you, so shove that in your epeen!
