If your kid told you that he/she is ....you know, what would you do?

I'd say, "Whatever makes you happy, just remember that just because someone can't get pregnant doesn't mean someone can't get an STD".
People who would disown their kids over something as trivial as homosexuality shouldn't be having kids.

Oh, this is the worst poll I've ever seen. Ever.

This poll is horrendous.

My parents disowned me when they found out that I'm gay... and then they pressed charges against me for being a juvenile delinquent, for sexual addiction, promiscuity, etc. After a few months of that, a team of lawyers and psychiatrists pretty much laughed in my parents faces and told them to leave me alone.

There's absolutely NO WAY I could ever disown my children because they are not straight.

Not worry about birth control?

Probably talk with them about what they feel are the roots of their homosexuality, their process of coming to that conclusion, encourage them, as always, to wait for sex. I wouldn't come down on them and preach at them: they're my kid, they'd already know my view and by the time they're old enough to make a claim about their sexual orientation, I've already had my largest chance to share my views with them. They have to make choices, good or bad, at some point.

I'm a Christian, btw, and I do view homosexuality as a sin. But we all sin, so why target homosexuals for ostratization, and what pedestal can any of us stand on to condemn another? There's a point in life where we all make our own choices and, providing my child was at that age (I would call that legal adulthood - 18, because before that, homosexual or hetero, they're not of the age to choose to have sex since I'm still responsible for them to that point), up to them and nothing I can do about it.

As I have interpreted the passages from the Old Testament, it is homosexual sexual activity (whether it be the thought of such acts or the actual physical manifestation of them) that is the sin rather than the person's preference of their partner's gender. By that definition an abstaining homosexual would be no more a sinner than I and probably much less.

Just thought I'd be nit picky.

Jesus Christ mate that is absolutely horrendous! I have no problwm with Gay people and although I do noit share theit feelings, I totally respect their right to choose their own sexuality. If I had a son who was that way inclined it would only strengthen my belief through my unconditional love. I'm sorry to hear that mate I truly am.

I think your parent's actions were more horrendous than this poll. That must have been very tough on you. Thankfully you won't be like them when you have your own children. 🙂

My daughter can be a lesbo, but my son better learn to play for the right team.
I knew it was only a matter of time until some dipshit posted something along these lines.....

So, you're planning to watch your daughter have hot lesbian sex? Is that why it's okay for her but not for your son? Explain yourself. I can't wait to hear what thoughts are rattling around in that pointy little head of yours.

As I've pointed out earlier, I seriously doubt the "disown" voters have kids. Having just had one of my own, I see that it's a whole different ball of wax with regard to loving another being and only the most callous of humans could cast off their own flesh and blood. What your parents did is disgusting. My sole concern is that my daughter is happy; so long as chopping up puppies isn't what makes her happy, I have no problems. I just want her to be true to herself, whatever that means.

All I can say to this is "WTF?" How a parent could be that cold-blooded is beyond me. 🙁
