But by allowing people only one choice, it's obvious that people are by far more concern about their son being gay than their daughter.

Or they have a more polarized thought about male homosexuals in general (either accepting or ostracizing) and are more middle-of-the-road about lesbians. Or both the male choices on the poll are above the female choices. Maybe they have a son and not a daughter. Maybe the fact that the fourth poll choice says "loveR her" affects it. Your conclusion that it reflects which they are more concerned with ignores other possible reasons for the choices.

Thats what I hope the poll will show. That's pretty much on par with what my conclusion is.

Or both the male choices on the poll are above the female choices.

Will, yeah maybe a little.

]Oops, typo. I find it hard to believe that almost 90% of the people here have a son and not a daughter.

Well, neither am I (except against people of color, since the bible doesn't like them) but that doesn't mean I'd approve of it.

Like I said, the only course of action is to kill them in the name of jesus.

That's a bold conclusion.

I'd be cool with it, only as long as I didn't have to listen to them having gay sex.

Adopted? Really the opposite sex? Oh...If they said they were gay...
Probably be somewhat upset at first...but eventually get over it and ultimately still love them the same.

This thread is just painfully stupid. 90% of the people here don't have kids. Once you do have a kid, you'll realize that "disowning" them just isn't really an option emotionally.

That said: I have a daughter. I don't care if she's gay or straight because it's just not important or remotely relevant.

Disclaimer: I do not have kids.

I would imagine that as long as my kid didn't talk with a lisp and act all fruity and effeminate, I wouldn't care.

I'd love them regardless. Just because they chose to love the same sex doesn't mean they aren' t a person. If you love someone than you should love them unconditionally.

Exactly. If my future kid swings that way...it is his/her decision.

One other thing I feel compelled to point out. Your child is both the product of your genes and your interaction with them. You are all of the "nature" and most of the "nurture". If you feel that your kid coming out is somehow "wrong", why disown them when you have no one but yourself to blame for their "fault"?

gay people don't exist.
straight people don't exist.
we're all bisexual! I mean as long as you don't try to suppress attraction to certain sex because you think it's "wrong", you can be attracted to whoever you want to, be it male, female, or other

That's really an interesting take on things. Care to explain that? As well as your sexual preference?

I just think most people are afraid of being attracted to a particular sex because they want to be indentified as either "gay" or "straight". As for my "sexual preference", as though that really exists, I don't think I'm what most people would call "gay" because I tend to not be attracted to people of the same sex, as much as of the opposite sex. but I don't think I'm what most people would call "straight" because I'm not opposed to being attracted to the same sex.

Well, I don't have a child, but if I did I'd be okay with it. Something would have to be wrong with a parent if they would disown their child because of their sexual preference.

As long as they're happy and comfortable with their sexuality, that's all that would matter to me.
