Let me rephrase that. I would -never- support her being a porn star. I would support her as a father. Regardless of what the hell she decides to do with her life, shes my daughter and if thats what she wants to do then I would try to accept it and avoid the topic and be there for her when she decides to leave the industry.

Being a 'god damn parent' means dealing with the fact that after the age of 18 you're no longer in charge of their life.

Right. But what about the showing her the wrong of her action by your own decision not to communicate with her? If she has an ounce of decency (which I would hoped you've taught her) the depth of your dissapointment and decision not to be involved in her life if she pursued such an avenue would show her the seriousness of her actions. Yes, that's right. She needs to be taught, since she apparently hasn't been so far, that she is responsible for more than herself. Supporting "as a father", to me, amounts to nothing more than condonement of the action. And I'm willing to bet it's percieved by such girls the same way.
