Do you think of their name or screen name first? Have you ever ran into another ATOT member outside the interweb excluding the designated ATOT meets?


It seems next to impossible to run into another ATOT member out in the real world, but it happened to me today. :cool:

Was just driving along like usual and I noticed the dude in grey Honda waving at me and I glaced over. I'm quite certain he was FFMCobalt. If you know the area, I was going west on NW Evergreen pkwy between NW 185th and Cornelius Pass Rd. in Hillsboro.

I know him from previous ATOT meets.

Actually, this is the second time to run into another ATOT member and both times, it was him. First time was at Beast Byte by Winco.

There are only about 5 Portland AT'ers who I know their real names, which is what I would call them.

Otherwise I'd quietly ask them what their real name is.

If I meet anyone, I hope they refer to me as Ross.

i play ball w/ an ATer every once in a while... and i know a couple other ones too, even though i'm not on here much anymore

donno one day i saw one of my partners in my group for a project browse AT..."dude ur from AT!!"....he doesn't post often..arg forgot his handle.....my two friends don't post much..but u probably seen them post b4...goronath and gunther........

saw some dude laughing in library...just looked over shoulder..dude he was on ATOT...arg too bad i didn't ask..i shoulda posted a thread "hey you there 3 stalls down! stop laughing i'm stodying!"..but that'd be xtreme neffing..or using ATOT server space just for my own selfish reasons..not that i don't do that anyways..but..yeah...wtf...

EDIT:

oh yeah i forgot..b4 i started to post on ATOT like a madman (started like last year summer.....but was a member since the year prior just browsing and lurking...until i couldn't help but reply to this one thread..forgot what it was for..it's all that thread's fault..i think it was a YAGT.. :( :( :( )..yeah b4 i did, i met a active user...he was interviewing me for this job, (the job i have ritght now)...he goes "how do you find hot deals?" i smiled and said "anandtech hot deals"......i guess that's why i got the job...ahhahaha...well, turns out the interviewer was the employee that i was gonna replace..ahahahahha..damn i never asked for his handle..but he posts in HD often....i should call him and ask..but i haven't talked to the dude for half a year
