I mentioned that I go to UCSD and found out that a forum member was in one of my classes. We just said "hi" to each other in class.

It seems next to impossible to run into another ATOT member out in the real world, but it happened to me today. 😎

Was just driving along like usual and I noticed the dude in grey Honda waving at me and I glaced over. I'm quite certain he was FFMCobalt. If you know the area, I was going west on NW Evergreen pkwy between NW 185th and Cornelius Pass Rd. in Hillsboro.

I've never met any AT members in real life, but I have met members of other internet groups "IRL"
At gaming LAN's, it's common for people to call each other by the screen names until they get to know each other better. With forum members, people usually just start off with real names although there is always the occassional bobble and forgotten real name.

IIRC, Cobalt (ffm is his old clan tag, the name is Cobalt) drives a Ford Ranger with a bumper sticker that says "AFFIRMATIVE ACTION IS LEGAL RACISM" (or something to that effect)... one of the few things that he and I agree on.
And yeah, I'm one of the locals, so if anyone wants to do another meet, I'll try and make it this time. Someone send me Ross' address though so I can kidnap him and force him to attend 😉 😀
 
A friend and I were standing in line to get food at a UC Davis cafeteria one day, and someone tapped me on the shoulder and said, "excuse me, are you from Anandtech?" It was KEV1N, and he recognized me from my pics.

When I ran into him at Best Buy last year, he was driving an older model Chevrolet Blazer. Never heard he drives a Ranger.

Ok here is what I want to know. I visit other forums, and one of those forums invaded a huge KKK forum. It was just like any other forum, but just about every other post involved some kind of rasicm. Even subtle threads like going shopping were full of slurs. They even had a stickied thread called "Forum Member Pics", where a whole lot of members had posted their photos (both male and female). Now if someone saw that and recognized them, WHAT the hell are they going to say? Yeah dude that is me, I am a rasict and post at a KKK forum?
 
I met CorporateRecreation and agnitrate at a party at school. Had to use user names at first until we knew real names.

I've only ever met two AT'ers and one of them is my wife. So no Eli and I have never gone on bargain escapades, although if we were to I'd help him find a bargain on a digicam 🙂

I'm pretty sure I saw Nik's girlfriend Chelsea the other day, I met her at the last PDX ATOT meet. She was working as a hostess at a local restaurant - I think it was her, although I didn't say anything because I wasn't certain.
