EDIT: to avoid anger.

i didn't know the US could draft people from other countries? 😕

Isn't Canada one of our allies?

I'm sure border security on the Canadian side would be pretty tough and wouldn't allow many of you to escape into their borders.
On the other hand, entry into Mexico would probably be fairly easy, given our current state of illegal immigration.

ummm can you explain why not? You still have to register for selective service correct?

What I think he's trying to say is that because of the political backlash associated with reinstituting the draft, we'd have to be in one absolute hell of a sh!t storm before anyone would even make a valid push for it.

There is no DRAFT at the moment. If there was to be a DRAFT, Congress would have to change something.

Selective Service is just in case there is a draft.. but there is no draft.. thats why no one worries about registering for SS...

No one CARES that you go into each country. You only need your driver's license right?

Are you arguing a point, or just adding support to it?

I said that in order for there to be a draft, we'd have to be in a hell of a pickle, otherwise the political backlash associated with those that called for and supported it would be disastrous. So basically, it would never happen otherwise, which is what I'm trying to qualify Baked's statement with.

Once we annex Canada, we can draft him.

The less tanks Canada has the less chance American F-16 pilots have of dropping bombs on friendly troops like they did on Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan.

Well if they felt the need to draft an old fart like me it would be much more serious than this fscked up mistake of a war in Iraq, something like our homeland being invaded and of course as a patriot I definately would serve in any capacity that I could.

Of course I'd stay and fight, anyone who says otherwise should just move out now, and yes I mean that.

umm, if there was a draft, given the political backlash of one, then there would be a helluva a reason for fighting a war, with our country being severely threatened, so yes, I would serve. And anyone who's too pussy to defend their country from a threat should get out now.

Crossing from Canada into the US (and vice-versa) is even easier than crossing the border from Mexico to the US... you just don't make as big of a deal of it, because not too many Canadians are sneaking over to the US.

When I went on vacation to Canada, there was this 2 lane highway going right across the border in Montana, no check points or anything. But, this was before 9/11.

So no matter how corrupt the government become, no matter what their sick twisted motives, every able bodied man and woman should be all for wherever the government wants to send them... I think not. Now if our country was being attacked on our own shores, then hell yeah Ill be the first one in line. I'm sorry tho, taking over a country for political/oil/revenge/fake WMD/whatever.....is not something I would support or go kill innocent people for. No matter how much their culture differed from mine.

I'd go to basic, but I have a feeling that I would then get sent to prision. I'm too old to put up with that brain washing ****** they try to pull. I understand its purpose, but NO ONE gets in my personal space and yells at me without me doing something about it.

the only way id stay for the draft is if US was about to be invaded. I wouldnt stay so we could forcefully spread our idealogies onto other people

This is how I feel too. I'm still of age to qualify for a standard draft, and if it were to defend this country from a genuine threat, I'd do it in a heartbeat. That said, I want no part of being in this bushie's army :|

your aware that neither canada nor mexico wants draft dodgers anymore and will proactively attempt to jail your ass and subsequently ship you back to the states, right?
