I'd be gone. I'm not dying for Israel or so George W. Bush's buddies can get richer.

I am 24 so this "could" happen to me, and I have thought about it alot. I used to say, given the fact that I think the war is pointless, but thats not for this discussion, anyway I used to say that I would go to Canada (thinking about moving there anyway) but again, I don't know. It would really depend on the circumstances. I love this country (hate the gvmt) but can I go fight someone I don't consider a threat? Or is it even my call to question if they are a threat and go blindly....like I said, it would depend on circumstances for me...

I've done my time; 8 years. I have no obligatory service time remaining, so George W. Bush and the U.S. Government can kiss my @$$

I won't be drafted as I'm married and have an 11 month old son.

Under the circumstances, if I were drafted I would either CO, serve some prison time, or go to Canada...my family needs me to be alive.

Were I single, I'd fight.

Edit: I should add that were it a war of necessity (i.e. WWII) and tons of folks were being drafted, I'd fight under any circumstances (married or not / children or not)... in a war of necessity, everyone has to make sacrafices.

I'm in the same boat. Unless they change the rules.

What I think he's trying to say is that because of the political backlash associated with reinstituting the draft, we'd have to be in one absolute hell of a sh!t storm before anyone would even make a valid push for it.

Honestly, I'd probably fail the physical and be tossed out of the draft office :p If not, it's mexico for me. I prefer warm weather, and I took a couple years of spanish in highschool. I don't remember much of it, but I could probably pick it up again pretty quick. I never have known a lick of french.

Stop thinking the USA is the center of the universe. I'm already Canadian I don't have to go nowhere. By saying Canada or Mexico you forget those of us that aren't US.

EDIT: to avoid anger.
