If you saw a real ghost, how would your perceptions about religion & evolution change?

For the sake of discussion, we'll assume that you were with a group of people & everyone confirmed seeing a ghost walk across the room & none of you are on drugs & no one was playing a trick on you.

If this was a REAL ghost, would your evolution/religion picture change?


After being scared shitless, I'd probably find it comforting that there may be life after death. I actually want to believe that there is more of reality than just this. I hate the idea of us just dying & that's it.

Umm, it would not effect me because being a thinking person, I would realize that it was probably some reflection of some sort.
 
Strangely, I very much believe in ghosts, and to this day swear I have witnessed them in my family's house. And just other things that really push me to believe they exist... for some reason.

I cannot explain it one bit, cannot make it fit into any logical systems.

And I am very much an atheist for all intents and purposes. The technical term is atheist-agnostic... in short, that means atheist but isn't a total jackass in that one swears off the belief of higher power no matter what, even if the face of actual evidence. Now, I believe evidence/proof will never appear and that nothing of a true God figure exists, but I won't deny it if proof is presented in front of me, you know... like the bastard appearing in front of me, while sober, and healthy. 😛

Note: This would be after debunking all possible explanations for the sighting.

On matters of life after death? Sure!

On matters of religion? Well I don't believe in a deity, personally, and seeing a ghost does not tell me that there even is one! Hell, even believing in an omnipitant "being" could still be considered the wrong way to look at things. It would probably make more sense to believe that there are "spirits" floating around, or other crap like that.

On matters of evolution? Evolution does not deal with ghosts. Even if I saw one, evolution would not somehow become debunked as it is not relevant to the scenario!

youre nuts. obviously if there are ghosts, there are ghosts that are reproducing, and they must all certainly be affected by natural selection and improved by evolution or they all would have gone extinct.

I'd no longer be ghost agnostic.

Not sure that this has anything to with religion though. Don't know enough about ghost mysticism to know if they are supposed to have evolved.
