Why must one "rally" around a figurehead politician? What happened to independent thought?

You do realize, of course, that the opinions of those who post here are the result of our interactions with the "real world", yes?

So where can I find some of the mythical right wing cavemen who are for freely trading drug laced berries?

And how do those same right wing cavemen feel about freely trading with those other cavemen from across the river?

Edit: and what I meant is that the sampling of opinions represented here is not proportional to real life.

They're called libertarians.

I dont know what college he goes to/went to, but I dont remember anyone taking serious courses making penis jokes.

Maybe the kids in developmental math. Might explain a few things...

In a thread full of people stating that they're happy for the poor to go hungry, it's the person who makes a cock joke that gets your ire up...?

Because the rest of the adults were having an objective conversation.

And yet it was only the cock joke that generated enough of an emotional response in you to respond, rather than all the posts saying that the poor should be left to go hungry.

If that's how you align your priorities then you really aren't in any position to judge on the maturity of others.

I'm talking about the fiscal right, not the religious right. The pure fiscal right would make trade in anything legal.

As for your second comment, I really expect better than that from you Vic.

There is no such thing as the "fiscal right." It amazes me that people think that since during election time lip service is given to "fiscal conservatism," that it will somehow make them so. If it ever existed, it certainly hasn't been around for 2-+ years.

Define "live upon".

40 hours a week at minimum wage is certainly enough to live on.

You would probably need a roommate, and would have to give up your late model chrysler with dub deuces and new york apartment, but you can certainly live on minimum wage.

Really the issue here is people aren't willing to give anything up. They got a $500/month loan on the chrysler, $100/month on the rims, and with some help from housing authority were able to get a lease signed on a $1500/month apartment right after cashing their tax refund check.

However, once they start that lifestyle they feel like they "deserve" it permanently, even though it's usually funded through social programs.

If you can't afford your current living situation then move and/or sell your luxury items.

Just because they're not the majority doesn't mean they don't exist. Does your mother still play peekaboo with you? You know when she covers her face with her hands, she didn't actually disappear...

I wouldn't say that fiscal conservatives are even a viable minority of the right anymore.
Still quite a bit of lip service, sure, but most of that is just a cover for extremist social conservatism.
For example, when spidey goes off on one of his pogroms against his pariah poor, he's just demonstrating Protestant work ethic and the "Prosperity Christianity" belief that being poor is a punishment from God.

When I do find the occasional non - religious self proclaimed fiscal conservative, he is usually just some jackass tax protester who is unwilling to pay for even the government services that he wants and uses. And hey, guess what, that's not good fiscal policy.

Oooh good one! Its amazing the lengths people like you will go to in order to rationalize ignoring opinions that vary from your own.

Not according to the rich folks in here.

Meh.

The two types of people in this thread are:

(1) liberals who talk about the world as they wish it were, and
(2) conservatives who talk about the world as it is and what it will be

I am not supreme dictator of the world. People don't bow to my command. The salaries the unskilled labor force in America earn is something that is between them and their employers. The cost of living the workforce in America has is between themselves and a whole crap-ton of factors. The amount of influence I, or anyone else in this thread, have on these matters is miniscule at best.

So are you going to explain why you feel that a cock joke is worse than someone stating that the poor should be left to go hungry?

Very good post.

To the modern progressives: What do you consider to be a fair "living wage"?

Hunger is a very powerful motivator to get a job. We should try it and let Darwin work.

Poor are poor for a reason, they don't work enough or hard enough. That or they think they "deserve" a job that pays "what is fair", that kind of thinking can only lead to bad results.

Thanks for proving my point about TerryMathews' lack of perspective.

No, because I dont. They are two completely separate things and aren't mutually exclusive.

One is an objective conversation, the other a childish personal insult. And if you look, I never said one was worse than the other, just that you were 12. The rest of your posts I believe confirm that theory.

And so who did I personally insult with my cock joke?

You spent three or so posts deriding me for my lack of maturity, yet felt no need to chastise those who deem the poor to be so far beneath them that they can be left to starve. If you had bothered to look at the rest of their posts it would show them posting the usual nonsense that derails these threads - kneejerk accusations of socialist, communist, libtards, etc.

This little episode speaks volumes about your inability to judge a person's character.

Oh right. Your cock joke must clearly mean that you have superior morals...

And I took your comment as directed at me since you quoted me when you said it.

It has to be said, you're not the sharpest tool in the box.
