serial numbers are clearly located on the back of the machine. if you know of anyone who has any epson printers it's uber easy to get this little bit of chump change back from them.
epson = freakin' crooks anyway :|

are you *sure* it was purchased in '98? no receipt proof has to be attached. you just have to guesstimate when you bought it and from whom.

Yea, I keep track of all my purchases so I know what date it was purchased. And it was registered and had warranty work done, so I know Epson knows when I purchased it too.

Something to consider, if a lot of you are like me and submitted rebates for Epson printers over the years, remember that they know when you bought it. I have no idea if they will check that info, but I wouldn't try making an optimistic guess.
 
FYI-

I'm submitting claims for 2 printers, and I called the claims administrator to make sure it was ok to send both claims in one envelope. She said it was.

Thought I'd post in case anyone else wondered about this.

Pretty ironic I can't print the form on my Epson at home because it's clogged up. I'll have to print it from work.
 
Get those claims forms in! You will still be able to register for the automatic credit until November 2006, but if you want the cash, you've got to have your claim forms postmarked by June 22, 2006--that's this coming Thursday.
 
Someone gave me their old printer, telling me all I would need to do is add ink. In looking at the requirement for the class, it seems I would be eligible .

(i) purchased, leased or otherwise received any Epson inkjet printer (?Epson InkJet Printer?) (specifically including, but not limited to, Epson Stylus printers (desktop and photo models), PictureMate printers and Epson Pro model printers(ProGraphics printers, large format printers and proofing printers) but excluding Epson branded point of sale receipt printers); and who (ii) purchased, utilized or otherwise received any inkjet cartridge for an Epson InkJet Printer (?Epson Ink Cartridge?). A complete list of qualifying printers is available on this website.

Technically, I "received" a printer, and also purchased an inkjet cartridge. I guess the only issue is if the person who gave me the printer already registered it. Hmmmm

When somebody gives you something you have all the rights of ownership including the rights to future benefits. The printer is yours and you have the right to receive the settlement benefits. If you register or submit a claim and your friend already registered the printer, the worst that will happen is that the claim will be denied.

Go for it, you're in the right.

I feel better. All these years I had this guilt about collecting a settlement for $125 on an IBM computer my brother sold me for next to nothing a few years after he bought it. I saw the settlement, applied for it, using the logic you describe above, but never told my brother, out of guilt. You see, he paid way more for it than the pittance I gave him, so in many respects he deserved the money. But I kept it in my greedy little mits. Now I am vindicated at last! Thank the lord! I'm still not going to tell him though, because he would probably pound me, or at least give me a nasty wedgy.

 
I sent mine in a long time ago and selected the option to receive stuff from the epson store through my email. I still haven't received anything. I don't know if I ever expect to now.
 
According to the class notice, the benefits will not be made available until after the settlement becomes final. That means you wait until at least 60 days after the entry of judgment to allow for the expiration of time to appeal. That's pretty standard for these types of settlements.
 
One thing that's not clear is whether one can "stack" the credits against a purchase??

They've also set it up so that any unused portion of a credit "will be forfeited".

A poster on slickdeals said he called and they said that the e-coupons cannot be stacked! Hopefully this is not true (otherwise I'll have a few $25 e-coupons that go unused...)
 
I'm glad they didn't want the Production Code for those requesting the $25.

My Stylus Scan 2000 is on the list and was purchased durring the required period but my Production Code starts with a "B".

The online registration required a Production Code that begins with a "C".
 
Great, I am reading this for the first time and discover on the claim site that I need the letter postmarked for 6/22, which so happens to end here in less than an hour. What the frick?

No cash for me, just a $45 credit. Guess I can't complain too much.
