If You Purchased an Epson Printer, You May Get $25

The settlement is for each qualifying printer that is registered. I've bought at least 6 or 7 Epsons in that time.

there is a claim form if you haven't registered, click on the 2nd link and click on claim form. Hmmm 6-7 epson printers then you should fill out the claim form so you can start getting your money back.

IIRC this is a settlement where the consumer will receive credit for purchases on the Epson online store...not real $$$$...

Not true. You have the two other alternatives:
1) 25 check/cash plus 20 epson credit.
2) 25% off Epson estore purchases

In the alternative, a Settlement Class Member may reject the $45 credit and instead elect, by not later than June 22, 2006 (the ?Claims Period?), to receive either: (a) a combination of $25 payable by check and a $20 Epson E-Store credit for each registered printer; or (b) a discount of 25% off Epson E-Store purchases for a total discount of up to $100 with respect to each registered printer.

You just pick which one of the three benefits you want when you fill out the claim form. Epson form located here

It looks like you can register online instead of mailing in a form if the OP still has the original link (the URL currently linked is for a unique session that has expired).

Actually the way I read it is that is you register online or are already registered you will only get the credit in the epson store (which will probably have some restrictions)

But if you want to get a $25 check you must mail in a claim.

ANyone know if there is a way to tell if you have registered an Epson printer? I went through at least two in that period, and I know relatives have also, but I have no idea if they were registered or not.

Yes, but look how simple the claim form is.

You don't even need to provide a proof of purchase.

Assuming that you don't want to try to re-register, you could always submit a claim form and get the $25 cash and $20 E-Store credit or the 25% off E-Store discount. Look at page two of the claim form:

SECTION C: SETTLEMENT BENEFITS
Please check which of the following applies to you:

You are eligible to receive a $45 E-Store credit under the Settlement, but
wish to reject that benefit and instead submit a claim for one of the
alternative benefits described below. Check which one applies:

Alternative One: I elect to receive a combination of $25 payable by
check and a $20 E-Store credit.

Alternative Two: I elect to receive a discount of 25% off E-Store
purchases for a total discount of up to $100.
😀

To me it looked like if you register or have registered, you get the $45 credit and have to do nothing else. You can still send the claim form to get either of the other remedies if you don't want the $45 credit. I didn't see any mention of proof of purchase, that's usually how they dump 80% of the class. So, you send in the form and you'll get a check in the mail somewhere around 2009.

Benefits will be available after the Court has given final approval and all appeals have expired.
Approval Hearing is on August 15, 2006. How long does it take for appeals to expire?

H*ll'z yea, time to recoup some of that hard earned cash, er uh, I mean ink.lol I have a Fry's "hot deal special" still in the box that I never could get to work on any of my 4 pc's.Was told that it was a windows related issue reluctantly by the CSR @ Epson. Any further info was a cost to me for support by Epson. Believe me, I love my Epson and Canon printers, but paying for support is B.S. No thanks. CX3200.CX5400. Stylus R320. Canon i850. Canoni950.Time to fill out some forms & check out hot deals. Thanks all.

Bah I always knew Epson was up to something...
I hated how they always make you change the cartridge before the ink runs out. I put out the empty cartridge and shake it to hear liquid moving about. It only happens sometimes.
Also with the 3rd party cartridges my Epson CX5400 is being a real b!tch. I just put in new 3rd party ink a few days ago and everytime I turn it on it does the 1+ minute head cleaning cycle. Extremely annoying and a complete waste of ink. It didn't do this in the past for some reason.
My epson printers also do unwarranted head cleaning cycles out of nowhere. My guess is they programmed the printer to "waste" ink with the excuse of keeping the ink print out at the best quality. I say B.S., because I don't need to head clean as frequently as it is programmed to do. Also with my CX3200, after printing out numerous pages or copying numerous pages, it will do a head clean cycle. Now... Why would I need to head clean the printer if there is no streaks at all? Also I am in the middle of printer/scanning documents and it decides to waste even more ink.

My R300 eats ink like crazy. I had to throw away 6 cartridges (by Epson) that felt were 20% full. The 3rd party ink is not working very well. 🙁 I'll get everything I'm entitled to not cuz I need the money but cuz Epson deserves to pay. Europeans might take it but we won't.

You don't even need to provide a proof of purchase.

You still have to provide the serial number and production cod

I had the photo stylus 800. What a waste. I tried to ebay it, and people can't give them away for free. I'll dig through my paperwork, maybe I can get some of my money back.
