I "love" jesus because he certainly was a cool guy. He was an "anarchist" with unconventional thoughts, people in power hated him for this. This is always something good. But i hate religion and especially institutionalized religion which we call "church".

If anything, they only distorted what he actually said for their own agenda.

Agreed. See post #14

I don't know if that's true, I think it's just a vocal group. Might even be more than half. I doubt it's near 100%. I'm religious, but I usually stay out of religious threads.

I'd agree with this. It's just that the ATOT anti-religion folk are far, far more vocal and fervent than the religious folk. There's no incentive for anyone religious to even mention it, as they will be trolled heavily, and swiftly.

What happened to turning the other cheek?

Haven't you heard? The Bible is basically a choose your own adventure book, and each denomination picked a different story. He's obviously from one where "turn the other cheek" wasn't in their story. Apparently my old pastor's story allowed embezzlement and adultery.

I am serious. I also expected nothing less than the worst of the worst to show up, which gives me a nice list to block. It may even be enough to make me leave this God forsaken place forever.

The problem with this is... you would be blocking those who you should be reaching out to, whether they scorn you or not.

Don't worry about what others think. And you don't need to try to "save" anyone. Just speak the truth and those who are ready to listen will listen.

Poor atheists are going to hell. Every one of them. And considering the outright disgusting manner of some of the atheists in this thread, it will be well deserved.

You just dont ask God for forgiveness and expect to get it. If you think you are going to live your whole life denying God and turning others away from Him with the intent of asking to be excused at the last minute, you are in for a rude awakening. God will not be fooled and you will join your co-horts (Kim Jong Il, Hilter, Pol Pot, Jeffrey Dahmer and John Wayne Gacy) in hell. :'(

Just a question for the Christians here: Jesus said "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Which means (from every interpretation I've ever seen) that without a belief in Jesus, you're going to Hell. I wonder what happens to children who die before they are old enough to think for themselves, or to jungle natives who have never seen a Christian and never heard of Jesus. Are they damned?

Living evidence of Heaven and hell is there and with you always. I have plenty but its my own. You would dismiss it all being so cynical. If you have no faith, you may never find it. Faith comes first, then the evidence you seek will be found.
