If you legalize marijuana, you are gonna kill your kids

I'm still amazed AZ passed it for full recreational. I really didn't see that coming. But I also didn't expect 2* Democratic Senators and EC votes to go Democratic either...

(2* because Sinema really doesn't count except on paper)
Support for legal weed was fairly strong. The reason it took so many tries to get it passed was mainly that previous initiatives were often crafted to restrict dispensary licenses to folks who looked a lot like the backers of the initiatives. The one that finally passed was also the first to explicitly include protections for non-smokers.

Someone's getting a little angry.

Why did you bring up THC toxicity to science-up your "argument"?

Again, you said it's science, so give me the LD50 of THC. Cite studies showing the toxicity of THC.

Until then, you read. Otherwise, just saying the word "toxic" and "science" in the same sentence is absolutely meaningless.

Thanks.

One thing I can say with a fair degree of certainty.... Shorty has no valid argument to "science up" here.

😛

thanks for proving my point.
you ignorant mouthy little turd.

Know what "projecting" is? 😛

Many of the states that are legalizing marijuana are taxing it so high that the black market can still be profitable. It defeats a huge purpose of ending prohibition: eliminating the violence associated with the black market. It is predictable that overly high taxes/regulation would continue to benefit a black market. It's almost as if the politicians didn't want that part eliminated.

Also, the dispensary licenses seem to be prohibitively expensive. Almost as if it was meant to regulate out the little guys and help the big guys. Almost the same way every other regulatory agency works.

Do you really think they don’t want the black market? They are probably getting something for making sure the black market continues.

I fought it until my black marketer friend (grandfathered med license he abused) until he passed away. Now, I know exactly what I'm buying and a lot morre variety. My local store has specials. Just hooked up with 28 grams of 24.10% THC Heisenberg Kush Sativa for $142. Not fighting anymore.

Connecticut prices are still a bit higher then that most places with the cheapest OZ (of approx 25%) I've seen so far @ $185.

Still not bad though and certainly beats the heck of of the days when they hauled you off to jail for small amounts of weed! (not that long ago)

Illinois is *STUPID* expensive. 10 edibles are like $45. Pax pods $100. I pay $10 and $35 for them in Oregon. I will say IL has higher THC doses on edibles than OR, at least for now. 10 vs 5. In April OR is going up to 10mg per single edible. Not sure what that will do for our pricing. But it's still going to be a lot cheaper.

At some point, Dem strategists will realize that federal decriminalization of marijuana possession and controlled distribution might just be enough to get Biden re-elected (and elect Dem senators too for the needed follow-up legislation.)

we have 9 dispensaries and only 2 places to buy liquor 🙂

my only complaints about the legal products is that the flower is too dry, but the prices are finally decent, an OZ from $99-145, edibles need a redo as the max dosage is 10mg

Illinois is outrageous on prices. A friend told me the cheapest ounce is $330 for shake, not even flower which starts at over $400/oz!

Remember when an oz of dank was more valuable than an oz of pure gold? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

IIRC it was around 96-97...gold was around 350/oz, and we were paying 350-400/oz for black market flower, lol.

I was paying around $150 at the most at that time for better that what most legal is now.

Dang, that's a good price. I'd definitely need a humidor if I was going to buy 28g though, 3.5g lasts me long enough that I still keep it in a sealed container to help preserve it (on top of the jar it came in)

It really depends where you lived, how dank the buds were and how convenient distribution was. Early courier/delivery services in NYC could easily fetch $500/oz or more for White Widow and other “new” hybrids at that time.

Yeah and it's gotten a lil better now due to all the legalization around my state. We're surrounded by legal on literally every side, but it still isn't here.

That's what you get in WI, the northern Floriduh. At least Florida legalized though, and probably has stricter laws/penalties on drunk driving.

In NYC yep I can easily believe that.

My most common review (yes my store has a place to review your stuff) complaint is that some of the stuff seems like it sat on a dashboard of a car in Eastern Washington for a month in the summer. Hardly ever used to get dried out stuff except back in the old Mexican brick days (when a lid cost $15 dollars). Some of the Jamaican was so damp it used to start to get moldy like it had been buried somewhere.

Believe it or not I went back to using small Zip-lock bags to store my weed.

I find my bud stays fresh 2-3 times as long as when I leave it in the jar from the dispensary.

Try to steer towards bud packaged in sealed foil/plastic baggies if possible rather then the "shiny" and display-friendly screw-top jars that leave a crap ton of air in contact with your smoke sucking out all the moisture.

Also I suggest avoiding "bulk" weed in those huge kitchen-jars (often doled out with a scoop!) like the plague as its almost always dry to the point of turning to powder in your fingers.

Yea, these fancy jars with the plastic lined wooden tops are such a waste. One of the best I've seen as far as glass jars are just like the kind of twist tops you find on commercial pickle jars.

One of the brands I get (Raven Grass) uses a jar like that, and also tosses in a little packet that's meant to keep the humidity at 62%

IL has come down a little bit in price but it's still ridiculous. Vape pods are around $60 now and go on sale pretty often for 45-50, wax varies by brand but I've seen anywhere from 45-80 for 1g. Not sure exactly why it's so much higher but I imagine it's some shit like charging growers too much for licenses and such. I still prefer it to black market stuff, the market in IL has never been great so honestly the prices aren't too much different than before it was legal. I was never able to get solid reliable source either, always sucked buying an eighth for $60 and it barely gets you high.

I got these jars from a place called Evergreen, they're basically silicon wrapped mason jars and they come with a little magnetic humidity pod that you stick to the lid of the jar. Pretty nice they definitely keep flower from drying out, just gotta remember to recharge the pods if they dry out too much.

it's regulated so it has to be dry i guess, there's simply no other reason, even when i had medicinal license 6 years ago it was always brittle dry, it's one of the few reason grey market still exists here (and edibles over 10mg)

I picked Thames Valley Relief in Montville as my dispensary when I lived in CT. Awesome staff, prices for cartridges weren't terrible. I just tried to check their site for prices... renamed to The Botanist. *shrug*

I live in New Haven and a place called Affinity Wellness is right up the street. *(not sure if the menu is viewable without a login)

They're pretty good overall with good selection and cool staff. 🙂
