if you left work right now...

As long as my work is done, no nobody would really notice/care. We have so many meetings and stuff that is not-at-my-desk-stuff people just assume you're at a meeting/lunch/break/etc. I am here to work though, so that comes first. Now if that's done, thats a different story 😉

Yes, but I'm away from my desk an assload nowadays, so they'd assume I was doing work. Except of course if they don't see my purses.

Yeah, it wouldn't take them long. I am the only one in the lobby and I am pretty sure my boss would fire me if I just walked out.

Yes, I would probably have 5 or 6 of my staff ask me where I was going as I walked out.

If I left, people would definitely notice. If I get five minutes without being asked or told something, I check to make sure I didn't accidentally come in on a weekend.

Today? Yeah. Meeting in an hour or so.

Last week I could've gotten away. My manager was gone and I looked at the production boards and they were literally... empty meaning even the techs and operators were sitting around. I woke up at 9 one day (I usually get in around 8:30) and stumbled in close to 10. No one said anything. I surfed literally like all of last week for most of the morning. The one vendor we had come in to run some service tests woudln't come in till 1pm each day so only then I would go supervise but my tech would usually just work with him and I would drop by for 30 minutes around 4pm to troubleshoot some more with them.

But given the amount of slacking I've done last week I think it's time to get some more work done this week. Also with Semicon this week I don't think I could get away disappearing.

Yeah, I could probably leave without suspicion for an hour or two, but it depends on the day.

I'm to the point where I'm popping in and out of the engineering office fairly often now, visiting our other sites to make use of their unique equipment and personell, visiting customer locations, purchasing new supplies, or else just out in the shop working on various projects.

Someone would definitely notice before the day was done, and let's just say, there would be a substantial and immediate removal of privileges, and devastation of trust.
Plus, I have no desire to do that; I do rather like my job. (Except for the 8am start time.)

Yeah ppl would notice. A lot of them poke their heads into my office [area] to just say a passing hi, and when I am not around they go "where's Patrick?"

Out returning video tapes?
