If you don't like Mario 64 ...

Neither do I. I bought it on the VC because I didn't remember playing it. But after about 5 minutes, I remembered I have played it, and I never liked it. I must have blocked it out of memory.

and no, nothing is wrong with me

Mario 64 was one of the best games of all time. It ushered in the 3D platformer and analog control. What's not to love about it? It ranks as my second favorite Mario game behind Super Mario World.

Never got into it. Old school is still the best. New Super Mario Brothers and Super Mario World are still the best Mario games.

wow, a negative comment from you. what a surprise...

i like lots of things, you just happen to have a hard on for the posts i make saying i didn't like something. if you bothered to read you'd find that i've made many posts about things i like, but you won't, because you just want someone to bash on.

you say i must have a crappy life, but how crappy is yours that you have to bash me in every thread?

Oh snap we're both wrong ... it's Mikey from the LIFE commercial!!

EDIT:

wow I'm late and have been pwned by posters above 🙁

The only N64 game I ever played was Zelda.
I liked Mario Sunshine, though. Other than a couple rocky points, it was a pretty good game.

finalyl someone that can get it right! 😉

I despised Mario 64. This was one of the first games made by Nintendo that was 3D world for the N64. In my opinion, the game as a whole seemed like a cop out/rush job.

Very repetitive due to having not many worlds and having to play the worlds multiple times or so taking a different side route here and there for a star. Combined with an absolute horrid control/camera system. Whenever you needed to run over a small platform the camera alway rotated making you run in a semi circle than straight line. Now add that the camera never started rotating at the same moment while crossing the platform so you could not get the timing down right.

Latter 3D titles, like the Zelda ones were dramatically better camera/control systems (not flawless, but decent).

I didn't have a N64, but have played the game and kinda got into it. However, the Mario 64 version for the DS got old VERY fast and the controls made it painful to play sometimes.

Mario 64 was great for its time. Its not aged as well as Zelda though, due to the horrific camera/controls.

And SMW2: Yoshi's Island is still the best mario game by a mile. New SMB has NOTHING on it.

Well playing it now for the first time and playing it back in 96 for the first time were 2 very different things ...

:Q

that game didn't even deserve the "Super Mario World" title in it's alias. it was a good game but no where NEAR as good as any other super mario game, not to mention I beat it in 2 days.
