Wow, $15 an hour minimum wage? The whole damn country sounds spoiled to me.

No, not really.

I see you are from Connecticut. how much is our minimum wage, around $8/hour?

I do not see how you could live in Fairfield County with that after all of your expenses such as health insurance, automobile insurance, utilities, rent (which is around $900+ for a 1 bedroom) or property taxes (which are $5000 minimum). I am not in that position but I don't see it happening, that's probably why such a high percentage of families are under government aid, be it section 8 or food stamps. Private companies pay workers peanuts and the government covers their costs through aid.

We have been tricked into believing all the easy credit lines they have been giving us have improved our lives, but that BMW you financed and that home you purchased during the housing bubble will insure you never save a dime as all your money goes towards debt.

The whole system is rigged to get you to accumulate debt, then they have you right where they want you. It's even worse for younger generations, they are all ready $150,000 in debt from student loans before they even land their first job.

$15/hour sounds pretty reasonable to me.

You make it sound like it's someone else's fault if you buy a house, financed a BMW, or racked up 150k in student loans.

You think with billions she would get plastic surgery done and have a personal trainer to keep her in shape. Whenever I see somebody that fat, I see no self respect.

She's not right, but she's not wrong either.

Hard work won't guarantee success, but being a lazy whiner guarantees failure. Most people are guaranteed failures.

I do not mean to make it sound that way.

I am simply stating that it has become so easy to get access to credit, that most have been fooled into thinking the standard of living has improved from 35 years previous; which it has not, especially when you consider the current difficulty in many finding employment and the loss of a strong manufacturing base.

That's very true, the last several decades of prosperity was largely phony. But that's solely not the fault of the wealthy. It's their fault for peddling the lie, it's the fault of the middle class for believing it.

So, people are too stupid for freedom?

Since they are too dumb to operate thier own finances, obviously you think they shouldn't be able to vote for the govt of a country of 310 million people and trillion dollar budgets.

Amirite?

I dunno, the too-lazy-to-exercise woman whining in the article seems to be doing all right for herself.

Yeah, she's a failure at looking good. Or even average. If she wanted to change the way she looked, she'd probably stop whining and do something about it. When she whines that it's impossible for ugly people to look better, because the beautiful people have a monopoly on looks, then we can make fun of her.

If I was a billionaire I'd be the biggest asshole ever, like a Steve Jobs level of asshole. Good times.

that would be a selfish act. You get more with sugar than you do with salt. This is a big problem with those who suffer from personality disorders. One should improve him/herself by perfecting the things that can bring happiness to you and anyone around you. Selfish acts are things that kids would do, unfortunately immaturity is something some people never grow out of, perhaps due to too much consistency of ones environment and expected reactions of others.
For example, someone like Jobs didn't have to worry about his employees kicking his ass due to his position and place of power, yet a different environment would likely change his behavior as its part of a survival trait of adaptation. (do you think Jobs would still be an asshole when talking to some gangbangers in the hood?, likely he would be play nice and run away) its amazing what kind of environment money can place you in, but that also alters ones behaviors towards others.
Mis behaviors often stay consistent because the reactions of others and/or the "satisfaction/power trips" stay consistent as a result.

Anyone who thinks that working hard equals the time you spent at work might make the same mistake you are. Nobody can work 24 hours a day unless they are being paid to sleep. Most people can't work hard even 9 hours a day. Most people in the US don't work hard ever. I mean that. That shitty job that most of us hate because its boring as shit and doesn't stimulate us intellectually isn't hard, its just shitty. People that actually make something of themselves work like they're fighting fire in every moment they're working, and think about working when they're not working.

I kinda hate those people at the same time that I respect them. They're the reason that I have to wake up so early in the morning, and do things that I don't want to do for money that I wish I could just have for nothing. My attitude is the one that needs to be altered though, not theirs.

The problem is, there is no guarantee you as an individual among 7 billion people and growing, will ever have an opportunity to suddenly do that "stimulating" job you think will make you work harder to make more money.

I like my job, heck i loved my job i had as a teen at the local cemetary, problem is, no matter how much harder i work in my stimulating job or my past ones, i still make the same amount. My job is not boring, i enjoy it, but it can only pay so much. Become owner of one?....well there is only room for so many companies like the one i work for. which isn't much at all, competition can be a bitch.
