Well I know all of the competitive players I have spoken with refuse to play 2Fort.

KT

I'm one of the top ranked players on a server I play on. And I think just the opposite of the argument others are making here. They are the ones who are not good. You need to react and think fast and shoot accurately on the move because the space is small and reaction time is compressed. They just don't want to admit they can't do that and be competitive on 2Fort.

Scout
Scout

Played correctly, nobody stands a chance.

Exactly why I almost never play any more. The scout is way overpowered. Maybe I'll pick it up again if Demo or Soldier ever gets some love.

You can't be serious. There are so few people who play the scout well. I don't care what class you play- if you have balanced teams, no class over powers any other class. The soldier and demo are tough enough as they are. They don't need updates.

Scout is over powered. I'm right, you're wrong.

Yes, soldier and demo are perfectly balanced as is, but it would be cool to see them get some interesting new weapons. I think it sucks that Valve has focussed on the pansy classes like sniper, spy and overpowered scout rather than the ones that are actually fun (pyro being the exception).

I play soldier about 70% of the time and usually on the 2Fort Map. I don't care how good the scout is, my kill rate is very high with them. Especially indoors they are dead meat and all the hopping ziggy zags they do doesn't matter. The key is to take your time, see their movement pattern and then blast away.

You have obviously never played vs a good scout. Good players don't play on 2fort servers. There is a world of difference between a competitive level player and a casual level player. Any competitive level scout could go onto any 32 player server and get top score easily.

Pure garbage. It's a map, like all others....each with its own character, requiring something different from each unit type. It's a small map that gets you into action fast and the battle becomes more tactical than strategic. To say it is the map of inferior players is more laughable than snobbish.

Clearly you've not experienced the competitive TF2 scene. It's well accepted that 2Fort is a joke.

Oh, your top ranked player on your server, wow.

2Fort is a joke, and the idea that people say it sucks because they can't play well on it is bull, because, 90% of competitive players, myself included, will tell you it's craptastic.

Ok we get it, you're right and everyone else that plays TF2 is wrong, even the professional players.

People take it personally when they realize or are told they aren't as good at something as they thought by someone who actually is informed about the game even though it's not an insult. There is just no way they can be told by someone that they aren't good without taking it personally.

Here's some examples of what higher level TF2 play that you'll never see on any 2fort server looks like:

Wow those videos... crazy skills.

The one moment I wish I recorded was when I wrenched three enemies (one was a Heavy) just as they were about to cap the cart (they were distracted by my team of course). No one except spies expect a wrench to the head :p

No, you have an opinion. I have an opinion. We all have an opinion. But yours doesn't constitute a case. Cheers!

BTW, what constitutes a 'professional?' I have 850 hours of play time. How many do you have? I'm ranked 16th on this one out of 85K players.

True. I haven't played on the AT server but I'll need to check it out. Is there a preferred map that is played?

You have an opinion, I have an opinion supported by the opinions of many others. That is a case.

Anyway, I'm done with arguing about that ridiculous map.

I think I've bumped my Scout playing by about 20 hours in the past two weeks. Having so much fun with it. I'm still not great, but it sure as hell is fun, particularly on Payload maps.
