Played correctly, nobody stands a chance.

Exactly why I almost never play any more. The scout is way overpowered. Maybe I'll pick it up again if Demo or Soldier ever gets some love.

You can't be serious. There are so few people who play the scout well. I don't care what class you play- if you have balanced teams, no class over powers any other class. The soldier and demo are tough enough as they are. They don't need updates.

Scout is over powered. I'm right, you're wrong.

Yes, soldier and demo are perfectly balanced as is, but it would be cool to see them get some interesting new weapons. I think it sucks that Valve has focussed on the pansy classes like sniper, spy and overpowered scout rather than the ones that are actually fun (pyro being the exception).

Scout at the highest level of play is the best class. It's a fact at the moment. Just because some or many scouts suck, that doesn't matter.

I have seen some scouts kick some serious tail. Most of them do stink though. I was playing a map today and we had four scouts on a 12 person team. Two of our scouts were really good. They would keep the team at bay near a choke point and our soldiers, demos and pyros mopped up what was left. We won 3 matches in a row.

scouts are definitely annoying, but nowhere near overpowered. they have low hp, cant stand up to sentries at all and heavies rip them apart. a good sniper on the other hand, you cant even get close to them without getting your head blown to pieces.

I'm surprised I haven't seen more people mention Demoman. Every server I go to has a dedicated user who always plays demoman, and they always do well. And there's nothing you can really do if a team demo-rushes.

I really can't believe people are saying the scout is overpowered. I've seen some good scouts, but none of them have made me think they are unstoppable. In a small server a scout does have the advantage, but small servers are no fun. I prefer to play with at least 24 players, and scouts aren't as effective with this many people. Now demoman, on the other hand, I feel is a bit overpowered. It's a class where you can be decent without experience, but once you get the hang of it and especially once you have a medic stuck to your ass you're basically unstoppable. You can rush ahead if you have a medic, or if not then you can sit behind your teammates and just spam bombs and stickies. Oh and I hate crit stickies; they are extremely overpowered.

But I haven't even answered the poll yet. I don't really have a preference, so I can't choose. I can say that I probably wouldn't choose heavy, medic, or demoman as they are my least played classes. And I wouldn't choose scout since the last update, where they nerfed the sandman way too much (minus health and minus bonking ubers, BOOOO).

Demo for Offense & Defense.

I used to hate the demo, but I kept playing him.

I love blowing up sentries. It's a rush.

I'm a better offensive demo than defensive one.

I play soldier about 70% of the time and usually on the 2Fort Map. I don't care how good the scout is, my kill rate is very high with them. Especially indoors they are dead meat and all the hopping ziggy zags they do doesn't matter. The key is to take your time, see their movement pattern and then blast away.

Almost every class is good against scouts indoors - soldiers and demos especially so. The close quarters fighting nearly nullifies the scout's speed and mobility, the very things that he depends on for survivability. Considering that 2Fort's only real open area is the bridge area (and even that is limited) and that's not where most of the fighting occurs, this map is one of the least kind for scouts.

Play a good scout on Badlands or Well where there is equal places to fight outdoors as indoors. Then tell us you're the uber badass soldier when it comes to killing scouts. :)

As to myself and answering the OP, right now it would be soldier I guess. It may have been scout in the past, but I haven't been putting in many hours lately and I've lost some of my finesse with that class.

You have obviously never played vs a good scout. Good players don't play on 2fort servers. There is a world of difference between a competitive level player and a casual level player. Any competitive level scout could go onto any 32 player server and get top score easily.

Pure garbage. It's a map, like all others....each with its own character, requiring something different from each unit type. It's a small map that gets you into action fast and the battle becomes more tactical than strategic. To say it is the map of inferior players is more laughable than snobbish.

How do you account for the fact that inferior players almost exclusively play on it? Are you going to tell me that crits add depth to the game next? I could give you the IP of a more serious oriented public server if you were interested in playing with good players. The difference between casuals and competitives is not unlike the difference between high school football and the NFL. Most people don't even know it exists.

How do you account for the fact the inferior players almost exclusively play on your maps then? You have nothing that can be confused as fact. Or even the least persuasive.

He's right. Competitive scene usually avoids 2forts. It's too hard to cap when everyone knows how to play properly. Competitive scene for tf2 is pretty shitty though. Probably more players and better purses playing something like cs 1.6 or starcraft.
