If you could only play one class in TF2

Assuming everytime you play:

1. Teams will always be relatively even (not stacked)
2. Class balance will be ideal (no teams consisting solely of spies and snipers)

1. Pyro - take down sg's and push with massive uberness
2. Pyro - airblast ubers and constantly attacking the offensive line.

I can never be only one class. I always switch it up to whatever the situation needs.

Probably Medic on offense and Pyro on Defense. I like to mix things up quite a bit. The only classes I do not play much are Soldier and Spy, I'm pretty terrible with both of them.

My answer is sniper for both situations, I like the challenge :p

Sniper isn't much of a challenge, point and shoot. Spy takes the most skill and thought involved of any class.

I chose medic for offense and demo for defense. edit: I should have probably picked engineer.

I haven't tried spy for very long because I suck at using the number buttons to switch between weapons, so I get killed really easy as a spy.

Demo for both. I'm actually a fairly decent demo, and I can take out sentry nests fairly well with a good medic. And you really can't beat sticky bombs in choke points on defense.

pyro, demo or soldier in either role. i like to eff stuff up. and they all have both defensive and offensive strong points, even on an unbalanced team (killing power often ftw).

edit- thought scout is viable. it's just so damned hard without a decent medic, though, unless you're on a map with lots of health packs. if the heavier classes can't at least take half your health, they either suck or you're an uberninja badass. either way, hard way to go for your average player.

Every class in TF2 is very easy to play. Spy appears like it may be difficult but play it for 1 hour and you will get the hang of it. I had like 30 minutes played on spy (when I decided to really try it the other day) and within that hour I was sapping sentries with ease and getting 3-4+ backstabs per life.

Pyro for both for me... I love the simplicity of running at a group of enemies holding the fire button down. :)

Maybe in a crappy server but in a decently competent server with people that are smart to spy check with pyro's it's a little bit more difficult.

1 º Heavy
2 º Medic

They both are my best classes under those specific conditions (offense and defense, respectively). I can hold my ground as a Soldier, but I'd rather have Sasha and the Sandvich for pure offense (biased choice, of course, Heavy is my very best class). For defense I simply chose Medic, that way I'd get to help everyone and not try to focus on just one goal, and depending on the map I could switch to the Kritzkrieg and give it a good Pyro or Soldier and wreak havok, even on defense.

Yes it's also annoying when the engies build their stuff so they can sit with their backs against a corner all the time and you can't back stab them.:|

I picked soldier on both for their versatility. I would have picked sniper if they weren't kind of gimp compared to other classes.
