If you had the opportunity to go back in time and witness one event for 30 minutes..... what event would you want to see happen?

I'm at a loss trying to come up with something profound..
All I can think of is to watch where they buried some treasure that's never been found..

Or, maybe watch the first creature leave the seas and walk on land...

Or spend 30 minutes in a real jurassic park like environment, watching a t-rex chow down on some unfortunate other big dinosaur.

I would go back to October of 1999, just before taking a specific train ride, and give myself a long speech in the hopes of saving myself from myself.

It depends.

If the evangelicals have it right, I would like to go back to the garden of eden. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind seeing the signing of the US Constitution.

Sometime during the American Revolution. Like the meeting when they finally decided to go to war, signing of the declaration, one of those type of things. Must have been overwhelming.

I like your treasure idea too, haha.

I would go back in time and accept the invitation to Princeton instead of going to the University of Tennessee.

I want to go back to the day I was born and watch my mom give birth to me... then I'd make sure they don't switch me with some other baby! >.<

That's pretty tough... I'd say October 18 2003 (my bday last year) and instead of dying my hair red I would've kept it bleached and cut it. Then I would've been able to play basketball.

Aug 15 1995 - Sell a certain ring at a pawn shop - Maybe get a nice used stereo for it. Kick myself in the teeth if I didn't cooperate.
If I only knew then what I know now.

Hmm... maybe like 6th grade... when a friend kept asking me to go out with this girl, but i was too shy to do it. From that point on I was pretty much a pussy around girls until I moved in 11th grade. I could've had so much more game than I do now haha.

Good one.....

Another one for me would be:

Location: The Moon, Tranquility Base
Date: July 20,1969
Time: 7:17AM PST

On July 20, 1969, the human race accomplished its single greatest technological achievement of all time when a human first set foot on another celestial body.

Six hours after landing at 4:17 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (with less than 30 seconds of fuel remaining), Neil A. Armstrong took the ?Small Step? into our greater future when he stepped off the Lunar Module, named ?Eagle,? onto the surface of the Moon, from which he could look up and see Earth in the heavens as no one had done before him.

He was shortly joined by ?Buzz? Aldrin, and the two astronauts spent 21 hours on the lunar surface and returned 46 pounds of lunar rocks. After their historic walks on the Moon, they successfully docked with the Command Module ?Columbia,? in which Michael Collins was patiently orbiting the cold but no longer lifeless Moon.

I would go back in time to try and stop myself from going back in time to stop myself.

that'd be awesome too... then I'd also get to accomplish walking on the moon :)

I don't think the beginning of the universe would work.. the physics of the whole thing - you couldn't be outside of the universe...

The first 30 minutes of the (current) universe would be interesting to see. I'll assume it's impossible for residents of this universe to go back any earlier than time 0.

i'd go back and try to warn myself about all the stupid mistakes i've made. obviously i don't get to go back or i'd remember meeting myself already. also, it obviously wouldn't work because if the mistakes weren't made, i can't warn myself about them. damn these time-travels quandrys!

But what if time travel just creates another universe with another you in which you did change those mistakes, yet you wouldn't know about it because you are in the other universe.

That reminds me... does anyone *else* wonder if google's the next dot-com burst because of their insanely fast over-expansion?
